firstly no need to read back all pages bout new firmware just 20 or so since it came out, also other threads in software section.
secondly your info is not factual since noone knows if your phone is branded or not, with whoom, what your actuall cda says etc. so ppl with same phone and branding can help you or exchange some info that might proove usefull to you!
what if i posted "my phone doesnt work. HELP" in here?

colour for seus to be used successfully is always red so no point having that info, by now this is a common knowledge thats how many time it was discussed.

the main reason the thread is boring to read is because peeps keep asking questions answered before.

I've come across something rather worrying with the new firmware. 1 video file and 3 pictures have become corrupted and non viewable. These are pics/videos that were taken WITH the new firmware, were working fine and then have just died with normal phone useage.
I have not had this problem at all before the firmware update.
I have also tested another Memory Stick and can generate the same results.
Can anybody else confirm this problem, or is it just me?

I have also encountered the same problem in previous firmware also R1L anyone else with similar issue.

I encounter the same problem from time to time. I am still on the R1L002 because the EUROPE_3 version of R1N035 for customization CDA 102338/48 R9A is not out yet. I have also noticed that the theme graphics get distorted and the click sound for the keys becomes silent. However, if you restart the phone when this happens, everything goes back to normal after the restart. I was hoping this will be fixed with R1n035, but apparantly it has not been.

Unfortunately, rebooting doesn't fix the corruption problem for me. The files, when transferred to PC, are broke.
Nice one SE!

Before you try to transfer to the PC check preview of the pics on the phone by clicking view on the camera mode. If you see the preview, you are good to go, else, reboot the phone and take the pics again. Everytime you take pics, make sure you check preview of the 1st pic you take and if its good, proceed with more pics. If its bad, reeboot the phone and try again.

Ive had no problems with corrupted files.
Sounds like a memorystickproblem

Try to shut down the phone, pull out the card, put it in again, connect the phone to pc and reformat the memorycard using normal FAT table, not FAT32 !

Have you tried saving pictures to internal memory and then wireless transfer (Bluetooth / IR) your pictures to your PC to see if its an Memory Stick slot issue?

Or you could save them to internal memory, check they're okay, then copy them to the Memory Stick. Then transfer via USB and if there's an issue with those pics that are OK in internal memory that'll suggest there's an issue with your MS slot.

I saw in another thread that someone on a branded orange phone had updated already, but having said that who knows if it was branded or not.

The real question is whether or not to actually update?!
