K850 - what has this got thats innovative/new/different like the other 2? im just annoyed that se are no longer leaders. they are well behind the times. wen was the last time se brought out an innovative product? for a company that has a line of phones called 'cybershot', u'd expect their cam phones 2 be leaders and '1st's'. yet somehow nokia and samsung both manage 2 bring out innovative 5mp phones months b4 se. why wasnt se the 1st 2 bring out a 5mp phone, considering they have a dedicated cybershot range? and where is sony's answer to the N95? no where so far.

You can hardly call the N95 camera innovative when it takes such poor quality images compared to the K850 or even the K800. Just having big numbers doesn't make something innovative.

btw, Sony and SE are two different companies.

Since when does the G600 have HSDPA? N95 is better, but it doesnt look good.

dunno if that was in reply to my post, but i didnt say it has hsdpa, but its still innovative in design, for a 5mp phone its tiny and good looking. k850i having hsdpa is nothing innovative or market leading, as many handsets before it have got this feature. yea i agree n95 dont look as nice, but im sure the new 8gb version coming out definately will, im thinking of saving my upgrade for that rather then k850i.

the n95 was the 1st proper mainstream phone to have wi-fi and gps (by proper i mean its a phone, not a pda type such as palms/xda's etc).

these are 2 massive features, and id call that pretty innovative. on top of that it had a 5mp cam which was also a 1st, and a nice big screen. and hsdpa (altho im sure it wasn't the 1st to have this).

pic quality on n95 is not poor/rubbish, im sure it aint gonna be as good as k850i, but it came out a LONG time before the k850i, and K850i engineers have had almost 9 months extra 2 work on it, so of course its going to be better, seeing as technology moves so quick. thats like sayin a new phone thats coming out next year is gonna have better pic quality then k850i, well duh of course it is if it comes out a year later when tech has advanced.

now let me ask u a question, what is innovative about K850?

ps i no they different companies, obviously i was talkin bout sony ericsson, just couldnt b bothered to write it in full, im sure most ppl have somethin better 2 do then 'correct' me on such a silly point.

Thanks for the price comparison earlier. Can more people give some price comparisons with N95. I'm trying to estimate how much it will cost me using the N95's price.

1.GPS and WiFi is useless for most of the people.
I personally prefer HSDPA than WiFi.
Other than that, there aren't advantage over K850 ( exepct VGA recording)

2. K850 is A200 and uses JP8, but there isn't really innovative about K850.
but why still people prefer K850 over N95? because of its better build quality, size ,UI fast and stable;)

Have you used a Samsung G600? Here is a mini honest user review or comment that would completely put me off the phone (taken from another forum):

I got a G600 insted of waiting for a K850i. What a mistake, this Samsung blows! The camera shutter speed is so slow that I challenge anyone to get a sharp image without holding their breath. The camera shutter button is awful too; no chance of 'feeling' the auto focus.

Little bugs in the phonebook, smart dialing, T9 text input and alarms just sealed the deal; eBay ASAP.

So it has a 5MP camera, but its terrible at taking pictures. Why have a 5MP camera that bad? Oh, HSDPA may not be innovative, but I only see the N95, K850i and LG veiwty that have it, of which only one phone has been released prior to the K850i. Other high end phones may have HSDPA, but if they arent available on contract on T-mobile or O2, they dont count since I cant actually buy them. (not checked the other networks as I wouldnt buy anything from them).

The K850i is also highly innovative to be the first phone that supports GSM, Edge and 3G HSDPA. Dont think that any other phones do.

And I always prefer candy bar to slide or flip phones anyday, to me they look better.

that's a joke. What's non-mainstream about xda's?? HTC has a massive smartphone marketshare, and they have a touchscreen, something it's taking Nokia years to get their head around. HTC has had wifi for years ahead of N95, and it had SD-Wifi even more years earlier. They have had GPS for a while before N95 too.

overall the N95 is innovative, not because of the features it has, but because of it's abundance of features. But each feature in itself is not that innovative. The only truly innovative feature of the N95 is it's 5MP camera, and due to the lowsy compression Nokia employ, because of the dirt cheap cmos sensor they use, the picture quality destroys any hope of claiming the N95 5MP camera as innovative.

now let me ask u a question, what is innovative about K850?

I never claimed K850 was innovative. I was disagreeing with your statement that the N95 Camera made the N95 innovative. However in my view the K series line IS innovative for consistantly bringing out the best cmos digicam available in a camera phone. Every single release of a K series model has brought the best cmos based camera available in a phone to the market. That to me is innovation.

then why not use "SE"? fair nuff, I get that you didn't mean "sony", but I still think you should say what you mean. There is enough confusion as it is over SE/Sony.

I dont really think that there is going to be much innovation now when it comes to phones anyway. A big innovation was pictures then video then higher mega pixels. We have tv on our phones now. It doesnt leave a lot left. Look at tv's there Isnt much innovation left there for a while. 1080p is the highest around i believe. Someone can correct if i'm wrong about that. So thats what i think about innovation.

There is no need for innovation at this time if what we have right now hasn't been perfected itself. Why keep jumping the megapixel count or adding new features if they are implemented poorly?

Improve what we have to its best and then take the next step. Its like getting a Ph.D compared with the phone makers just pumping out high school graduates and letting them run loose.
