hi guys help me out here...
i have just started using airtel mobile office in mumbai and i use it to surf the net on my computer via nokia 6020....i am using a data cable CA-42 ( bought for 400 bucks not orignal nokia)
my problem is that the connection is very erratic...i mean i am surfing all right for a while and then suddenly the number of recieved bytes become stable means the computer stops recieveing any data....this happens sometimes 2 minutes after i connect sometimes immediately and sometimes after 15 20 minutes of surfing...
the surfing speeds are ok vary from 40 - 60 kbps..download speeds....
also when i connect my data cable to the phone sometimes in addition to saying "Data enhancement coonected" it also says data enhancement not supported...only sometimes....
so help me out guys wid a few ideas on solving this problem....the cc guys are helpless too....

the reason for connection being non-workable is because of network being busy. And the duplicate data cable always shows data enhancement not supported (but actually it works fine). In my nokia 3220 too.

@jainhashmukh
You have entered a wrong access point name. It should be "airtelfun.com", not "airtel.fun"
There is no need to create two data accounts. One account is enough for Nokia phones. By the way, I'm not sure about multichannel gprs support on your phone.
We have already posted the methods and settings on this thread. So plz have a look at it.

I think one main reason why free gprs is very slow nowadays is because I believe many ppl use the ping trick on 100.1.200.99, which slows down the only proxy server on free gprs drastically....In other words, we are performing a DOS attack (Denial of Service) ourselves on the airtel proxy. My humble request for everyone ... DO NOT PING 100.1.200.99 .

@raman my connection never goes off. I think in your case the problem of disconnection is because of tower/network failure.
And pl don't ping servers.. Because you will realise later that gprs doesn't works after that.

Theoritically, you have to ping DNS server. But it doesn't give any differences in the speed. So don't ping any servers.
