Back to the main topic of discussion, I was searching for some symbian apps and yet again realised that all the best ones (most true for freeware) are for S60. The UIQ platform seems to diminish because S60 has expanded far more in terms of available 3rd party Apps IMO. To me this stems from the number of people owning relevant devices (which in turn depends on the device itself- specs, how new it is, what it looks like, cost, all the rest) and the availability of the devices in the first place (if noone uses a platform, there will be no apps for it). I think apps count as an idea transformed into a function, so innovation aids this. To illustrate this point, in my view some of the best apps make full use of hardware: cameras, GPS functions, accelerometers to provide other uses, be it gaming, gesture control etc. This makes the use of the software and hardware more fulfilling. I wonder if the inclusion of a brand new UI in the P5 will promote UIQ software over and above S60 when it comes to the new symbian OS. This would further add to the use of the phone.

The programs on P series phones are based on the touchscreen interface so maybe it's more difficult to make such apps or since the P series touchsceens are quite exclusive, it could be that the UIQ apps are niche.

Secondly Mizzle whilst you like to give the impression you know it all last time i checked this is a forum where all are free to express their opinions so until you either own this site or are a Mod you have zero right to tell me what i may or may not do. If you stopped posting inflammatory comments like it will kill the N95 spec i wouldn't need to point out that i would hope it does on a year old devcie.

@Dogman, although I can see your point of view, I must admit it is hypocritical. You can't claim this is a forum for free ideas and then dismiss Mizzle's ideas or information on the subject matter. This is about RUMOURS, so nothing said here is 100% fact until the handset is announced. Until then, we are all neither right nor wrong. However if Mizzle claims to have contacts within SE I for one will listen to him because I don't have contacts within the company. Even if he was wrong, the fact that you seem to be so persistent with this fodder does little to express your point because it just distract from it.

Beibei and Josephine are currently "beta" tested within SE by ordinary people (everything from seceratarys to engineers)...External testers will get their units only after SE make the awaited press release. This usually happens within a month...However somtimes nasty hardware bugs delays even this moment...hopefully not this time

Its not just a claim, its a bloddy FACT. Mizzle does have more acess to SE than 98% of the people here, and i surely can testify that. So its funny how people that don´t know NOTHING and are mostly moved by the desire of bashing anything SE related pretend to have any argumentative superiotity over Mizzle´s comments
