It's the upcoming 10.1" tablet. SGP5X1 are 16 GB models, SGP5X2 is 32 GB.

It will be rather silly if Sony decides to sacrifice battery capacity for thin design which is not needed as the current tab z is already thin enough. Thinner is not the way to go, since any thinner will automatically exclude any chance of a flash or even an upgraded camera. I know it is asking too much for the Z1 camera in the new tab but the tablet is supposed to be the high end and why not also have a nice camera on it?
I'd really like to see better accessory support from Sony, as in a real keyboard cover like the surface has, the only tab had it, but it was so so from what I used.
Also thinner bezel because the current one is too large even for a 10 inch device.
A built in pen with wacom support is probably asking for too much, so I don't expect it.

anybody else sad sony decided to sell off their vaio division? -- i sure am.
hopefully, that means they can focus more on the mobile division as mobile and gaming are probably gonna be their biggest money makers. rumor is TV division might be the next one to go.. which would be devastating for me, personally.
haven't been keeping up with this thread too much lately as i don't want to be too tempted to upgrade from my Z1 (haha).. but it sounds like the next iteration isn't too much of an upgrade, so that makes me feel a bit better

What I hope for in the next tablet is 1080p screen (same as before), smaller bezels like ipad air, s800 soc and 399$ price. I think the biggest problem with tablet Z right now is the price, they cant sell for the same price as ipad air. It would have been an even bigger sucess if they priced it right

The Tab Z was 100 dollars cheaper than the iPad 4 (or 3, can't remember) , the one on market when XTZ was launched. I think it's a very good price for what you get. The actual model should have a 100 dollars price drop once the new one is announced.
Regarding the next one, I think they should make it even thinner and lighter, just like rumours says. I have nothing to complain about the battery duration of mine. With a S800/805 processor, the battery drain by the SoC should decrease over the S4 Pro. The screen could have a bigger resolution (2k, maybe?) with Triluminos and X Reality. The panel type can be the very same. It is simply perfect (even at extreme angles, no color loss, and minimum brightness is awesome).
The size is good for me. It's not big, IMO. They could work in the front a bit more. The space between the glass and the border is with a bit of dirt that I can't remove (at least with what I tried until now). Just like the Z1/Ultra/Compact, aluminium borders and open headphone jack. Magnetic charging, just like the others. However, the flaps could be a bit sturdier. I feel mine are going to break quite easily.
Regarding the camera, it doesn't need such a huge spec bump. I mean, why a super camera in a tablet? Or flash? I don't see the need for that. After all, it's a tablet. I don't want to see people with a XTZ1 (or whatever they call) to record things (even though I visit believe it will take quite some time to see one in person, as they will cost all your organs to buy one in Brazil). Someone said the actual gen has a SP or P camera. I seriously doubt it... Maybe the next gen could have the S camera? It's pretty good for most stuff. The front facing one could be better, though? Don't know if it's possible, but 5 Mp 2k?

Why 1080p over 2560x1600? Some languages require a higher ppi to read properly. Text benefits a lot.
And s800 is getting old. If the next tablet gets s800, in terms of hardware compared to the competition, it will be just like last year.
I think it's more than thin enough, but if they don't sacrifice the battery and can get a slightly larger one or at least the same one in, then thinner is better as long as, and more importantly, it's lighter.

An LED on the new Tablet Z would be welcome, not for the flash capabilities (who uses their tablet for serious photos?!) but for the convenience of using it as a torch.
I'd also like to see a vibrator in the tablet for feedback in games and notifications. I don't see the fuss about a wacom pen, the Z Ultra 'any pencil/pen' tech is good enough.
The problem they will face in the market is that, if they include a stylus, they will be instantly compared (unfavourably) to the Galaxy Note series. The comparison will be unfavourable because of the amount of specialised software Samsung has for their pen, Sony simply hasn't had the time to build such a rich collection of apps.
Higher-res is a bit irrelevant for me. I'm happy with the current screen as it is simply awesome, but that doesn't mean better isn't better, if it's of little detriment to cost, battery and size, bring it on.

Any of the new tablets will run win 8?
Also what about the Win Phone rumors from some time ago, is it now dead with the vaio line?

i would love to see the Q4 flagship and eventually all xperia high end devices with all sapphire front and back glass (and of course without the shatter film), or at least the front glass. it would be awesome. this is one of my top wishes. though, it may be still too expensive to make in 2014. apple is clearly going in that direction:

and watch this latest sapphire damage test video:

at least, i hope sony start implementing sapphire glass for the next smartwatch.
