Thanks Ranjith.
Yeah both SA under Smith and India under Dhoni have challenged Australia for that top world ranking during this year.
It's been long overdue.

16-odd years since Oz last lost a test series at home..

For so many years, Oz have had the edge on SA (and most of the other teams) in most aspects of cricket; the likes of Warne, McGrath, Steve Waugh, Bevan etc contributing greatly to this.
There's a lot of water under the bridge with these 2 countries playing each other, and truth be told SA deserved many of the hard lessons they received by OZ, both in SA and Oz itself.
Natural talent aside, from occasionally being a lot of hot air to his totally different demeanour and approach, Graeme Smith has literally evolved in the past 2-3 years. Well done indeed...

Credit to all the unsung heroes like the teams' support staff et al as well.

This is South Africa's tenth unbeaten series on the trot. Incredible.

So then, SA need to win in Sydney to nick the official Number 1 spot. As we know, anything can still happen, but until then, let's bask in this moment of cricketing history.

Yeah I agree. Ponting and co will be going all out to inflict similar damage when they're in SA soon.
Hopefully the Proteas will continue to adopt this more clinical and less big-headed approach that they're currently displaying.
Right now its paid out maximum dividends.
