Sucks you can't read it in your computer, cause then you could do more tests. I guess all that's left for you to do is buy a new card and try it. If it works, then it's the card, if not, then it's the Z1 for some odd reason. But, apparently it works since supercoolman has his working. I'll report once I have a chance to test mine.. my card won't arrive til wednesday according to amazon.
didn't just un-mount I insisted he turned it off each time, I know it sucks and I am totally gutted, I know I'm not really to blame but it was me he was helping out and it was my phone that messed his card up
I am still reading conflicting reports that the Z1 does support exfat - that link from XDA that I posted earlier, I asked the developer of the ROM if the Z1 supported exfat and he answered a clear no - the reason I asked was exfat support was included in the ROM description
I've noticed a couple of bugs in the Z1 over the last few days
The possible sd problem or maybe it's my device - yet to be determined (going to a shop today to get them to fit one)
WiFi doesn't connect to known previous connections (have to reboot) I have a hotspot set on my laptop which is 10 feet from me - when I enable the HS the phone doesn't see it, after reboot it instantly connects

I just updated/flashed the firmware to 526 HK version as all my phones before were from HK and the always got updates first, so I'm hoping that will trigger the official update process from Sony PCC in the next few days to 534 - if not I'll just flash it myself

the comparison tool doesn't have Z1.. it only has Z. big difference
From the images you posted and what I can see at the page you linked, it seems like you chose Z.

@geoffxx - hmmm.. i hope your SD card issue works. like i noted before, supercoolman got his 64gb card to work, but he hasn't said if it was a new card of a previously used one? can you enlighten us supercoolman? Sucks on the other issues. I have not heard or read of others having those issues, though I have heard of random reboots but not anything of real concern. hopefully an update will fix all the issues you're having. where did you get yours from again?
@ermac - with the xperia privilege app, you should have access to 2 months of music unlimited, and access to the video unlimited to download 5 digital movies of your choice and 1 special release, which i think has to be elysium when it comes out. The free playstation mobile games won't be available until november with 2 free downloads a month. so, for now, check out music unlimited and the video unlimited and see if that works like it should.
@cu015170 - no problem. it happens. please edit your other post to delete it or whatever if you haven't done so already, so as not to mislead others

All I can say is, make sure your app is updated to Version 3.0. From the google Play screenshots, there should be two big boxes, one with "try music unlimited for 60 days" and one with "5 great movies from video unlimited ... "
If you're not seeing those big buttons it's either
(1) you haven't updated to 3.0
(2) sony hasn't really provided the content yet for some odd reason in regards to the Z1
(3) there's some extra step somewhere?
(4) it's blocking you out cause your SIM says US, even though the App says UK..
Hopefully some of you can figure it out before i get mine! or when i get mine, i can figure it out

@all - has anybody gotten their hands on the Z1's magnetic dock? or know where to order one?
EDIT: seems the magnetic charging cable is the same one as the ZU's which is available now for much much cheaper than the price of the dock. The dock is nice and all, but i can easily create a little stand to stick my Z1 in and then attach the magnetic charging cable. I use my phone as my alarm, so it'll be nice to have it in clock mode (dimmed) and see the clock at all times as it's charging.
