@geoffxx - haha you sneaky devil. well, good luck with that. you should have gave her a story like "oh since you lost your files on my phone, i'm the only one who might be able to recover them for you".. sure, it's not true. but it gets you first look, then you can maybe save the day!

I don't think the files were lost in my phone as I couldn't mount it, I think it happened when she put it back into her own phone, probably something she never did apart from when it was new, I saw a popup but she studied it for about 10 secs then hit a button, I believe she elected to format the card, it might have asked that question because it had been in my phone

I think there are files stored on sd cards that identify it with a phone or device

I have a 64gb SD card and it got corrupted a few weeks back. It became corrupted because I put it in a phone which didn't support 64gb cards.
Anyway, I had pretty much given up on getting the data back, but then I came across a post on the internet which suggested running a simple chkdsk (the built in windows command line utility) on the card while it was inserted into a computer. I did this an to my surprise, within about 10 seconds it had fixed the corruption.

Apols if you've already tried this.

Here on some photo's I have just taken on my Xperia Z1. They were all taken in superior auto mode. Before anyone judges them I would just like to point out that when it comes to photography I am a novice at best and photography isn't my thing. The reason I am doing this is to show that even if you are a complete novice the Xperia Z1 will still take good photos in the right hands it will take stunning photos as we have already seen . Enjoy and please don't b to harsh ha ha

@XperiaJunkie those are some good shots there and your absolutely right, the Z1 does take good shots and in the right hands it will take stunning shots.

At the moment I'm really enjoying my Z1

Edit :By the way, where's the Z1 graphic for our profiles, I couldn't see one there yesterday when I tried to change it from the t.
