> Nokia N73 vs SE K800i which is better?
Bookmark topic
I would have chosen k800 until i used n73.
but if u ask me now,id pick n73,its a better all rounder and symbian 9 is a hell of a lot better than (i expected and) old messy symbian's. All the good things of both of them are mentioned by people who posted before...I find n73 a lot more functional, one think that annoyed me is the new gallery of n73..
k800 is good in its own respect cheaper (than n73),good cam, nice UI but it lacks the fuctionality...
Thats my opinion.

K800 has a better screen. Smaller: yes. Sharper with higher contrast: yes.
Most would say that N73 contrast/sharpness is good enough for most practical purpose. Then again N73 bigger screen size is a clear advantage over K800.
Quote:K800 is MUCH faster. The gallery on the N73 takes 6 seconds to load while on K800 it’s instant!
Then again N73 is a true multi-tasker. You can open N73 gallery once and leave it in the background. Then it will be instanteneous the next time you open it. But K800 certainly cannot have N73 gallery functionality which is clearcut better than K800. E.g slideshow/thumbnail and album support.
Quote:K800 takes better pictures. Yes if you know nothing about photo quality and thinks that lots of colors equal good quality you will probably prefer N73.
Are you an expert in determining that K800 pictures are better. Have you done a quantitative comparison? I doubt you have. So in effect, it is still your own interpretation. On the other hand I have provided link to public survey done by M-R which outcome said N73 is better.
Quote:K800 has the ability to update is software through USB
You didnt know N73 also have this capability?
Quote:You do mention a lot of stuff which should make the N73 better but some of them does not even match the features is just mentioned.
Talk about selective eyesight ....hmmmm
Quote:N73 has stereo speakers. Yes - It has stereo speakers. Yes they work. But who in their right mind uses them? The only ones I know who listen to music on a phone speakers are small kids.
hmmm.... let's see. xenon flash is useless because we seldom take photo in total darkness. The LED of N73 is good enough for casual night shots. You see the fallacy in this line of argument.
Quote:N73 has more/better small features due to Symbian. Sure it has. But features like opening Excel, Word etc. on a phone with no touch screen is a sad waste of time. How many people edit Word documents on the N73? I didn’t.
ditto.

lol.. mib1800.. you mixed up my opinion with others.. in the first place, i didn't even mention anything about K800's screen is better because it is smaller (not before i type this now--since you mention about it). I even said that i know that you guys prefer bigger screen, then you can see the text better. I do accept the fact that N73 capture better video, didn't i say that clear enough? "we SE fanboys do understand and know the fact that N73 is a better phone, thus we do not say that to win an argument, instead we use all of the other aspects that really determines someone who buy a phone".
I think all of the point that you mention do not really goes to me haha.. miss out man.. read the post carefully. Could you please prove that N73 is more successful than K800? so far as i've seen from many different websites, K800 has been awarded with quite alot of award so far, i heard none from N73. The first that i know was from mobile-review on auguest (right around one moneth after the phone released on the market.. it goes right on the top sales no. 1). I heard none after N73 being on the market after 1 month. (go to mobile-review, find the news urself.. its already long time ago).
It is ashame for N73 to be less successful in sales than K800, because it has better features overall, K800 DO NOT even need those features to make such sales.

lol.. QVGA, i understand that simple fact, and i am very very very happy to find that K800 is alot cheaper than N73, then it is more affordable for me. I am just trying to explain to mib1800, because he does not want to accept the fact that because of being cheaper, then K800 is more successful in making sales. (btw... not really that cheap.. it is cheap because it is branded by 3, otherwise the price can go up to $1000, im not sure about other places though...). I think, you've said that once and i understand that QVGA, thanks, no need to repeat.

What is success?
By sales? V3 has much less feature than K800 but it sell tonnes more than K800. So? If you look at the Europe sales of previous generation K750/N70 (which should more or less be repeated for K800/N73) you can see sales are not that far behind.
http://www.cellular-news.com/story/16738.php
And Nokia in its previous results release has said that sales of N-series has grown 50% q-o-q. This is a remarkable results given the overall industry phone sales increase was only 15-plus percent q-o-q.

In Denmark the K800 is not cheaper than N73. Besides with all the money we get from operators the prices are pretty much the same. Though the N73 was cheaper for me.
Still K800 is a greater success in DK.
Not that success is any guarantee for quality. Look at Michael Bays movies…

yes of course.. it also shows how good the performance and how users have chosen K800 as their favourite phones. Remember that the title of this thread is "N73 vs Sony Ericsson K800, which is better?", so there is no basic set thing s that we should stick on, like tech. We can include as much factors as we want to be--just make sure that it is not a make up. you are welcome to join this debate.. its really really cool and entertaining
