Yes all P990's from Vodafone are unlocked but not unbranded (Vodafone startup and shutdown screens) Debranding your P990 using software like kulankendi (see this
thread) will enable you to have the lastest firmware that SE have produced for the P990 on your phone making it more stable and bugs fixed. Hope this helps!

P990i Upgrade on O2 branding platform:
I purchased my P990i in December to upgrade from my old faithful but dated p800. Although the phone has great features its a shame that its so slow. I waited in ernest for the O2 branded firmware upgrade. And I managed to find it and upgrade from the SEUS this morning. I wish I had not bothered, my phone is worst now than before. I can no longer play video files, the image breaks down if you try to adjust the volume. In all fairness I upgraded and then restored a backup and from reading previous posts this is not recommended so I am now in the process of updating again, and before I restore I will check out the video playing capabilities from my 4gig mem stick. But its not just the video that does not work anymore, the phone is just so slow now, I expect that I will be calling O2 tech support soon.
Right, just upgradred again, and tried the video file without restoring anything on the phone and the video playback is back to normal, so thats good.
I will now not restore the phone from a backup but will re-sync with outlook and re-enter all setiings manually, this is a major pain as I have lots of wireless networks set up etc. But then I expect that I will lose lots of settings!!!!!!!! So I am going to try to restore again!
Okay right, back up restored and the video problem is still fixed! BUT When I select nimbuzz from my tools menu, it runs qudra pop which never worked before and I deleted from my phone ages ago!! So basically the shortcut for nimbuzz is pointing to qudrapop.
I am now deleting nimbuzz (quadrapop) from my phone and I will re-install this as its a very good FREE Instant Messenger client and I will also reinstall swiss manager which was not reinstalled during the back up.
Now thats strange, when I went into control panel to delete nimbuzz and selected uninstall, it came up with a screen asking if I wanted to install swiss manager, I have installed it. Now back to the uninstall screen. Right, as expected nimbuzz is not listed but quadrapop is, so I will delete that. I have restarted the phone and Nimbuzz is still showing in the menu although it now points nowhere, I will just sync the phone and see where that leads to. Talking about synchronysing, why do SE phones take so damn long, Originally ( years ago) I had a Palm V, and it sync'd superfast, it was amazing compared to SE.
Right Sync'd, nimbuzz still in tools menu!!!!
I have reinstalled nimbuzz froim my pc, it asked me if i wanted to over write the nimbuzz on myphone!!
It has installed successfully, eventually. Video still okay, now just need to install my bluetooth headset.
All okay now, phone is mauch faster, domt know what I did wrong the first time but I hope this little rant will be of some help to someone at some time, thanks for listening.

Does anyone know if the apps that are no longer in use are meant to automatically close if they are not used after a length of time e.g. 15 mins?
BTW its for the new R9EC001 Voda f/ware

I updated my ROM to the latest one and now I cannot use the internet over wifi. It just says 'unable to locate server' no matter what website I try to access. Any ideas?
