Didn't realise that but it doesn't explain why the GPRS indicator is on on my M600 and off on the P1 when they are on the same network and next to each other. Also, it is off wherever I go unless I actually try to connect to surf the web or download emails. It's not a big problem since GPRS is available virtually anywhere where there is a GSM signal in the UK but it still looks like a bug to me. Does anyone else notice this or is there some strange fault on my phone?
The GPRS indicator is off because in the internet settings you have selected GSM (CS) mode only. It doesn`t mean anything, only switches the GPRS antenna off therefore you save battery power. When you`ll try to go online or send/receive MMS it will switch itself back on. This is quite common for all SE phones, but some branded ones (3G UK) have it on at all times as default.

I have the following problem with the Music Player on my P1i:
I have appr. 980 songs (ripped in AAC+ 64 kBit) on a 4GB SanDisk M2 stick.
When I press play in the Music Player it takes more then 5 minutes before the first song starts to play. When I go to the next (or previous) song manually, it takes also a couple of minutes before that song starts to play. If I do not touch the controls after the first song starts, it works most of the time perfectly (except the startup delay).

Found the solution to my problem. Before I had all my songs in one directory.
By putting my music collection in subdirectories (I decided to do it by artist), everything works perfect now.
Interesting though that the same structure I had before (all songs in one directory) works perfectly on my W880i.
Anyway, case closed.

I don't know if this is a problem people might have but...
I have installed an instant messaging program called eBuddy. (u can google it in and the the beta version)
It automatically installed in the tools folder. Is there a way to change it so i can install it a different place?
The real problem for me is that i moved it to the entertainment folder. But every now and then it would go back to the tools folder...!!??? I have to keep moving it back to the entertainment folder.
(the last time i had to move the program back into the entertainment folder was 4 days ago but i know that it will go back to the tools folder soon).
ALSO: i seemed to have realized that it happens when i install a new program into my phone...At least i think so. Anyone else has a similar program or can explain why this is happening?

did you install to memory card? if so when you remove the memory card and put it back in it might map back to tools and take a few mins to map back to the entertainment folder...

I have only took it out three times but just to show some people how tiny the mem card was.
But this has happened more than three times.

Thanks a lot S.Mark. Changing to "Automatic" solved the problem as you suggested. Both my M600 (generic) and P990 (Vodafone branded) were also set to Automatic but my generic P1 was set to "CS only". Of course when I called Sony Ericsson to ask about this, they could not come up with the answer. I should know better than to waste money calling them when the answer is always available from the Esato community free of charge.
Thanks guys!

^ the SMSs received with the wrong time stamps are from local (Chinese) contacts, on the same time as me.
so probably, instead of changing the time manually when moving between time zones, you actually have to set a new time zone as your "present location" or you'll get the wrong time stamp? perhaps not a bug but it is significant to how the UIQ OS works (so smart its dumb).
In "Location" I have set current time zone and home time zone both to New Delhi, India. Also, I have set "Zone of interest" to GMT. However, SMSs received are almost all with the wrong time stamps ! Anyone can help?

@Bash2cool
I think it happen whenever you use your P1 as a mass storage.
