very nice start dr_thug..
about you Q, coz you're saving the file in JPG format, wich uses some type of compresions that reduce the quality of pics...
if you don't want this, you may use GIF ( for 255 colors or les ) or PNG ( for True colors ), but some times, JPG is good when you choose a good compression ration ( The [u]Save for Web[/u] in File menu in Photoshop is very good to save jpeg's and gif's and png's with the minimum file size and good to high quality

I've got a massive concept here thats taken me a few days to get to the stage i'm at. Does anyone wanna see it?
