@Boingg and whoever started this thread (didn't bother to check the 1st page)
Had one, used one for like 3 months, went to appstore too, but still can't fall in love with it. Okay mine wasn't the 3G one - but it does feel dissapointing when a made-in-2005 dumbphone (W800i to be exact) can browse better than a "sophisticated Macphone". Games and apps? Media capability? They're nice but I'm not the kind of person who plays mobile games/watch movies on a mobile when bored. 'green substances' are better!
Also, couldn't care less about the various ways to type on it; it was meant to make texting/emailing etc easier but it turned out to be less accessible, for me at least. I still agree right now that iPhone is overhyped - for this comment you can feel free to flame me. But it's maybe because iPhone is just not the type of phone for me.
I won't be talking about statistics or marketing, because my opinion is based on my own personal experience with it.
Cheers!

Nobody's saying it's the phone for everyone - there is no such gadget and never will be - just that it's made waves big enough to have the likes of SE on the backfoot, and knock the P and X phones for six.

I'm struggling a little to imagine how a W800i browses better than an iPhone, but I have a feeling I'll regret asking, so I won't
The iPhone's the best browsing experience I've ever had on a phone or any mobile device, bar none. If the W800i beats it, then kudos to the W800i! Perhaps SE should relaunch it?

Well here's how: with W800i I can use the GPRS right out of the box, just need to tweak the operator settings. But with the iPhone I can't even get connected to the Internet at all in the short time I had it. You're right - there's no such thing as an everyphone

Of course it's still missing some features from WM, but Apple can add those next week if they want to, without complicating that interface at all. WM, on the other hand, can never compete without a complete re-write from scratch.
LMAO..
Has someone hacked your esato account or is that you Boinng ?
No seriously, I wouldn't be shocked if I would've read such a nonsense from someone else, but you as someone who has past experience with WM, can't be serious with that words, can you ?
Either you haven't spent enough time with WM or you've completely lost your senses mate.
WM (failing) to 'compete' with iphone... Good one

I think some facts need to be analysed:
The iPhone now owns something like 16% of the smartphone market and it´s growing. A couple of weeks ago the iphone won the highest business satisfaction marks on a J.D. Power and Associates customer satisfaction survey. Xperia X1 was designed to be a multimedia smartphone but

´s choice for WM was in part because of the US market, specially the business market. Considering the fact that the iphone is gaining territory specifically in this market and the x1 didn´t get very good reviews (engadget, gizmodo, mobile-arena and etc) and its sales are delaying due to manufacturing problems (just google it ok?), I´d say the iphone is really a competitor to X1 and it´s stealing marketshare from

right now in this segment.

Yes.
And Fiat 500 Abarth is gaining market share from Mercedes CLK 63 AMG Black Series.
What a shame!
