Tell that to plankgatan..

I bet his C902 pics (with the right "driver") will outperform my Canon 5d mark II.

Only if the person using the Canon wasn't smart enough to power it up and point it in the right direction, even in full auto mode its large sensor allows for far wider dynamic range, incomparably better high sensitivty, image stabilisation, high speed phase detect AF, optical viewfinder, raw shooting etc. While there is of course a lot of skill in using a camera particularly with composition there is also considerable capability in the camera hardware itself, people frequently ask how I managed to take certain shots as they'd like to do the same but I have to tell them it's not possible with the hardware they have.

I've been looking forward to the N97 for a while as I've liked the 5800 interface but really missed having the E90's keyboard however there seems to be a lot of criticism of the N97 keyboard so I'm thinking I should be patient and try it out in the shops first.

That, my friend, is your first mistake: buying a phone solely on the merits of its camera.

You'll have a full qwerty, Contact lookup as you type a name/number - something your N96 doesn't have, and also touch screen if that tickles your fancy. There is more but until a fully investigated review by an existing owner and dialy user of another decent spec'd S60 device; we won't know just how good this is.

One thing is known ... decent battery life.

Personally I'm leaning towards the W995a or the E72 in the fall.

With direct tv you mean Mobile TV (DVB-H), like the N96 has ?
No, the N97 doesn't have that, only internet streaming.

Hi there consider myself very lucky as i picked up the nokia n97 and the nokia e75 at weekend and the n97 is a very nice piece of kit its more of an all rounder than say the omnia hd which is more specialised in multi media.
For instance I love the fm transmitter allowing me to play my tunes from the n97 through my car stereo is useful to me.
I also like the live widget for face book as its always updating you on 3 random peoples statuses from your friends.
The 32 gig also goes a long way when your filling it with your tunes and ive all put a 16 gb card in too which it handles no prob. The battery didnt last long yesterday but it was its first charge and had to some extensive playing with though i guess with the screen and features its never going to last as long as my trusty e71 which has the same capacity battery. But it dooes shame my samsung innov8 which can be left switched on with no sim in it at the beginning of the day and by night its on one bar !?!
It has crashed a couple of times but thats to be expected when you adopt a nokia early and its nowhere near as bad as the n95 was when it was first released.
I got a white one from phones for you and initially i preferred the look of the black one in the shop as the chrome edging suited the darker hue better but now the white grown on me.
The keyboard is a little odd in its layout compared to say the e75 which i prefer as a long press will select a number whereas on the n97 a long press repeats say the "r" key like this rrrrrrrrrr which is the same as the computers its mimicking i guess.
Mine had the slightest of vodafone branding on it logo when it loaded and a my web key as the right shortcut tho it was debranded and made generic before i even added my contacts
it is unlocked as well as it currently has my 02 sim in it while i wait for my pro rata minutes/data plan to become full so i dont get stung with a first big bill.
Having acquired the n97 and the e75 means my samsung innov8, nokia e71 and sony ericsson xperia will all be headed to ebay. Im still keeping the touch hd as ill use that to update contact photos through facebook using spb 3 but at the moment im just thanking god i can see my screen in direct sunlight which the touch hd was dreadful at unless you turned the brightness right up which then ate your battery life!
