So I got my Z1 Compact yesterday (the black one) and I'm happy that on its display, the colours don't have yellow hue. BUT the white is really yellow. So I find it really strange. If I crank up my blue in the white balance settings, the greys and other colours will be too blue/purple-ish. Anyone notice this too?
Apart from that, I'm happy with the contrast (which sometimes makes things look a bit darker than I'm used to with Z1, but good nonetheless), saturation, and viewing angle (I often put the phone on my desk and just look from an angle - not straight on - to check out messages).

Picked up the Z1 Compact when I was in the UK last week and got the VAT back (well, most of it ... after admin fees and such; kinda sucked but whatever - instant gratification). Battery life has been great and the build quality is solid. It's certainly better than some of the Sony phones I've had (such as the Tipo Dual). I wish it was a touch more compact and more like the SX that was Japanese only, but hey, not everything in life we get.
Here in the USA I have it on T-Mobile and it's getting 4G which isn't surprising since it has the proper bands, but it's confirmation for anyone who was wondering.
As a comparison point, I'm coming from the Galaxy S4 Mini Duos, and this is a better phone in many ways for me. The S4 just had some usability issues I couldn't deal with (one of which was the back on the right and not the left; one of the bad things with Android fragmentation).

If I'm not mistaken, you did complain in the past about the Z1, that it also had yellowish screen,
If you are used to the screen color of the your ipad.... they make phones too

^ lol. I don't like using iOS and I like Sony's customisation of Android the best.
Anyway, yea maybe it's just me still getting used to the screen. But I just find it really strange that this time, only the whites are yellow-ish. The other colours aren't. So my Z1's white has actually a cooler tone compared my Z1 Compact's.

If you are not used to an iPad (like me) it does not look as yellowish as it does to you
Anyway yellowish is easier for the eyes when you read books.

^ It's not just the iPad, btw. I've also compared it with my Vaio and Macbook. Now I feel like posting comparison photos again. Haha.

You can adjust it to your taste at Settings --> Display --> White balance.

^ I know about the white balance settings. I obviously mentioned that in my first post: "If I crank up my blue in the white balance settings, the greys and other colours will be too blue/purple-ish."
As I said, maybe it's just me still getting used to the screen. But at this point, all the colours look great, contrast and saturation are fantastic, it's just the white is strangely quite yellow for me.

Need a little help from the photo experts. What is the best mode for taking photos that are to be printed? I'm a novice so I imagine I'll only use the superior auto option since I move fast and take random snaps. I only print 6x4 so no widescreen or anything like that. i wanted to know if its better to use 8MP rather than 20MP. 20MP doesn't look great on my phone from what I experienced. I need nice sharp details and great night shots. Any ideas?
