Well I have an ipad mini 4 and iPhone 6s plus and didn't know that. Either way for 6s plus, 7plus etc the fast charging should be standard and customer not expected to pay extra considering how expensive the phones are already

i'd agree and do. yet one could wager fast charging could be part of the issue to Note 7's battery issues ... at some point something will give ... we know the price / extra cost has given (proven by device sales) but soon enough they'll be a breaking point with current battery technology Li-Polymer/Ion is old as dirt.

There are over 3 or 4 million devices out there thats getting Quick Charged like the N7s did. And out of that 4 mil only 20 devices or so have exploded (all N7s yes). So QC isn't the issue,if anything it was SAMSUNGs fault. This is like blaming rubber because several Firestone tires blew up back in the 2000s

I understand what you mean and I was afraid too first time I heard of fast charging . Yet as others have said Note 4, 5 S6 s6 edge and s6 edge plus plus s7 and s7 edge all have fast charging and nine have this problem. I had my Nexus 6 for two years and nexus 6 p released after this too has fast charging too. So chances are that Note 7 troubles are due to battery/phone design as opposed to fast charging. Of course we will know that for sure when Samsung will finally offer an official explanation
It seems to still sell well here in UK, I think we we're not affected by Note 7 scandal that much as it was released here late

The concept of fast charging is great but the temperature increase is a problem and needs better management. All phones in general seem to heat up a lot so that is more to do with processor and optimisation which is why I have an eternal admiration for the Apple way of keeping things running smooth with 'weaker' hardware.
Anyway, a Doctor came to me this morning saying that he did minor burns surgery on a lady who had her phone on charge overnight and tucked under her pillow. Technology has to be completely idiot proof, a proportion of exploding phones are probably due to pure stupidity.

Seriously, you are not at all this ignorant, I've read your posts for years and even when I disagreed your argument always had great insight.
If Fast Charging is to blame for the Note 7, what do we blame for the many iPhones that have also exploded?
Phones blew up long before Fast Charging was a thing, and at the moment almost all Android OEMs have Fast Charging phones, with no issues.
The Note 7 was an isolated issue, and even then, a small amount relative to the amount sold blew up.
Why are you coming up with all these excuses for Apple?
You sound like the Apple Fanboys who defended the iPhone when it didn't have Video Recording, and had a crap camera, carry a DSLR they said, if you want to take pictures.

BTW seems, Samsung is skipping Android 7.0 and jumping straight to version 7.1.

Apparently the Nougat update has been sent to carriers for testing according to GSMArena - good news but then depending how long that takes and because of how update is done by countries I don't think it will be publicly available until like February /March
