As you may recall, I was the first user to report the sudden death of my device and reported it to Wondamobile, which, through Sony Hong Kong, sent me a replacement unit. Later, when the sudden death problem became widespread, Sony created databases with the serial numbers of devices affected by motherboard problems due to uncontrolled humidity in their assembly plant. My replacement unit was part of a batch free of the problem. In fact, I've been using it for a year. Unfortunately, two days ago, they also left me this replacement device. It shut down and didn't boot up again. But with slightly different behavior. While the first Xperia 1 VII didn't show any signs of life after it died, this time the battery still seems to be "responsive." I try to start it, the Sony logo appears, but then it disappears immediately, starting an infinite loop. To end the loop, I have to press the power and volume up buttons for a few seconds. I tried to repair the firmware with my Xperia Companion: everything went well, but the phone still won't start. In fact, a message appeared saying the phone is no longer reliable and therefore can't be started. I contacted Wondamobile again and they were very kind and opened a new support case for me. In the meantime, to avoid being left without my phone, I immediately purchased the new Xperia 1 8 from them.
