I guess we can only go by what the one month old white paper says...
perhaps its just disabled and someone will figure how to re-enable it

maybe really pple instead of talking about the long delayed p990 we might really make some progress if we started looking for alternatives because at present as late as it is in the year this phone is still full of bugs according internet sources making it almost unusable

@tindo196
I've used one of the alternatives, the HTC Universal, and its now collecting dust. Having used the M600 I believe UIQ3 + Symbian 9.1 have great potential. For sure the P990 will not be 100% fault free, but its a great advance. Remember its your money so buy what you like!

Another date to hit and see whether this intel is true or just another SNAFU.
Quote:A concrete date at last, Katshing.se (and they should know, being in the same country as Sony Ericsson) have the P990i down for being in stock on July 18th. Still early days for firmware though, judging from the bug reports about the M600i from around the world.

Actually, the card scanner software works, and works very well too. I was at CommunicAsia 2006 playing with the P990i for a couple of hours. The card scanner software took a mere 10 sec to process the name card and convert it into the contact database. Real fast and COOL.
