As I said, you must open a bookmark in ur phone as soon as the connection b/w phone & PC has been established. Forget about Spartan's steps. They will not work on Nokia phones.

i guess u r right abt the DNS..
but when do u really find that it was enabled in u r circle...
what is use benifit of enabling DNS..
r u still using proxy?

I think u shouldn't worry about DNS bcoz the 202.56.230.5 is a fake DNS server. Yesterday, I did some experiments on our free trick and found that we should use proxy to get any response.

Now talking about advantage, If you have DNS server access, then ur connection is fullfledged and there is no need to specify proxy addresses in browser settings. Think that its like MO. But in our case, it's useless.

@jingboyx
What do u say about this?

you are right boss, thats what i wanted to know.. it means i am in no loss...
hey @irtel has launched EDGE in my circle and increase MO for 199/pM but for me its always free..

@AlanDS And Rajju_romeo
A DNS server has mainly 2 functions.
1)Resolve hostnames into Ip addresses
2)Lookup MX records.
But in our free gprs these functions are handled via the http proxy , which means we do not use the DNS server while browsing even though we have access to that. But there are times when we actually do use it, when we use applications other than browsers. Read below..

Disadvantages of NOT having DNS access :
Only the applications which have the ability to perform DNS query thru their own DNS servers thru HTTP REQUEST will actually work in this mode. This is the main reason why our free gprs trick did not work even on those applications that have an option to use a http proxy, although access to various ports can be achieved by using tunnelers like YF. For example, CuteFTP cannot work without a DNS server whereas the FTP client in Total Commander could. If an application sends a dns query to our airtel proxy, it simply wont get any response coz our airtel proxy is a http proxy and will only respond to http requests. Most P2P apps wont work without DNS access.

But as for ppl who use this free trick only for browsing, DNS access means no difference

you are right in u r explanation but why can't you u use DNS for Direct HTTP why going through proxy?
if u r application can access u r DNS then wht can't u r HTTP browser?
if we have DNS to resolve our HTTP query into ip then use PROXY!

Thats because once we set the browser to use http proxy, the browser wont even bother to resolve any hostnames locally. coz the http proxy will take over that function and will pass only the requested http contents to the browser. And the browser will just display what is sent from the proxy...

@EVERYBODY
For those of you who never got the yahoo chat to work in yahoo messenger... I tried using a 3rd party yahoo chat client, YahElite and it works!!! It even has many advanced features which r not seen in the official version. Get it from http://www.yahelite.org/ . Pls remember that u must use it with YF .
