If you do get a new heatsink, you'll be wanting some new thermal compound and a cleaning agent to rid your CPU of the existing crap.
Arctic Silver Ceramique is the best thermal compound, but finding a stockist is about as easy as seducing a nun. Arctic Silver 5 comes runner up (what I'm using) and thats usually readily available. As for cleaning agents, you wanna get some IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) and some engineering lint free cloths. A litre of IPA will last bloody years, and is about £6 from chemists.
Reason IPA is best, is cos it completely evaporates unlike citrus based cleaners (Akasa TIM clean is a citrus based one for instance)
Residue left behind by a cleaner (citrus and petroleum based agents in particular) severely hinders thermal transfer.
Righty ho, me is gonna attack my room, as it looks like my shed at the moment (me + shed + various "home builds" = utter chaos)

Yeah, my room is looking kinda shoppish ( 1 case on floor under desk, 1 case under scanner shelf, 1 case, 3 PSU 's, 2 keyboards n mice, 5.1 speaker set, card readers, hacked up GBA screen, 2 TFT's and 2 HDDs on desk!)
Be better when I have a working system tho!
