so, again... where are you guys buying your k800i's from? Need to get one till the P990 is out.

Mmmm I really don't know what to do, I need a new phone as I've had my W900 since february (AHHH!) But I don't know if I should get another one or hold on. Realistically does everyone think it’ll be out in august for sure? Any thoughts?

well even if the phone comes out in july it could be 2 months b4 u can lay your hands on one either due to shortages of units or simply because of unrealistic prices ,basically thats means the actual availabilty will really be in sep-nov that is if its released in july-in other words we might as well forget about it and reseve it for xmas gifts

We see all these diffrent dates like September, August, July etc..
The reason for this is:
The phone will come out in England in most cases 6-8 weeks later than the wholesale non comercial release in Hong Kong (asia)
Know what some shops (which names ill keep confidential) in countries like Sweden, England and expecialy USA buy up this Hong Kong stock that is what countries like Sweden and England are due to get. They sell them on thier shops. In turn some USA shops will go to Hong Kong and Sweden and try to pick them up for a premium to sell to people on forums ebay etc..
A few members on this forum know who I was and how many phones I sold years ago from and to Hong Kong. I still have a contact in China that is very reliable and is telling me that they should have the phone available within the first 'few" weeks of July.
Know typicaly how the trend goes(with SE P-Series Products)...
Dubai-Sweden 2 weeks after Hong Kong(asia) OEM release
England and Few other large countries 6-8 weeks after Hong Kong (asia) release.
Never does England or Sweden get any phone products before Hong Kong under any circumstnace.
THis is exactly why we see so many diffrent dates.
If the SE P990 is available online in September you can be assured that England and other countries and carriers wont see it until earlies October maybe November.... This will NEVER happend!
So be patient its right around the corner guys

PLemix.com for 700 dollars...wonder what the price of p990 will be!!!!????
gonna try e61 or N80 in a week or so...Im done waiting!

Had an N80 for a couple of days not long after it was out. Its only redeeming features were the web browser and wifi. The OS was very unstable with all sorts of memory issues, and the build quality on the thing was nothing short of shocking - the side mechanism was very poorly engineered and the keypad felt hard and cheap. This is on top of terrible battery life too. Not suprisingly it went back.
The K800 is a nice device, but I've had so many non SE smartphones over the last year or so that it really wouldn't of felt that special. Yeah the newer UI is eye candy but that is about it. The camera does bother me anyway, and rarely gets used in any of my other phones.
I went for the M600 myself. Loving it so far, and of course has the advantage that any software you buy now will in theory work in the P990 when it arrives.
Also gives you some good practice as to whats new etc. in UIQ3.
I'll tell you this - if the M600 had wifi the P990 would be completly out of the question for me though.
