@Moogoo: Thanks, indeed it seems that the only way to get some info is via the insiders that have connections with technical people. This is a strange situation as these are features of the Z1, not rumors or anything Sony has any benefits in hiding.
Re the fact this is digital stabilisation, this is what I would expect, but I am still wondering:
A) how can it work at full resolution 20.7 MP
B) how can it work at the same time as the pixel binning, that i also assume is software based.
Not saying it is impossible, but if Sony has made some prowess here, by all means, let the world (and us) know!!
A. experts here please correct me if i'm wrong. digital stabilization can't work in the max resolution because they need the extra captured details to adjust the frame to compensate for shakes or movements. if all of the frame is used up, the camera will no longer have any means to compensate for shakes.
B. sony may not be able to use pixel binning due to patents. i'm not sure but it could be some exclusive nokia tech.

@xperiajunkie - no issues here. and the new link loads better and lets me zoom all the way

very nice!!!
@shotokan - you would think! but sony likes to keep their tech secret unless it is branded somehow. Even then, they aren't completely forthcoming with how it's actually done without a lot of digging.

Two peoples make 2 shots at the same time. What the problem really?
and they're overlapping each other to have similar angles? how stupid would that look? not impossible, though.

@shotokan
in still picture:
when you apply the digital image stabilization, you just makes thing work IMO.
BECAUSE the camera will use higher ISO to use higher shutter speed, then you will get blur free images, but with much more noise!!
as for the Video mode:
It uses pixels outside the border of the visible frame to provide a buffer for the motion, so it will narrow your visible frame a bit, but i will recommend using it.
@miromiromi they use double tripod, where they mount the 2 smartphones together, it will give almost the same angle, if you take another look at the pictures, you will notice there is slight shift in angle between the two.

I examined them a bit.
They look nice in overview.
Close ups look bad sometimes though. Details are distorted, they are quite blurry at times and on some of them the right side is a bit blurried, really.
Strange. I hope it's a software.
I couldn't see the same thing on my Z (latest SW).
