@Egunje welcome to Proudly Nigerian. @Ihe Abeg no more story. Just keep posting. @All I just bought a Sendo M550 at the Abuja GSM Village for my Cousin. Cost 12.5k. @Brix Glad to see you around. I would love to post more in the SA thread but honestly I don't understand what U Guys talk about there. Very advanced stuff.

@coolapostle: LOL We're just having a debate about the merits of forking out a fortune for a technology(3G) that hasn't been proved...In the same breath it should be said that I would get myself a 3G phone if the service was reliable and the handsets were affordble.

@AYA according to mr momife mtel will launch their GPRS next week, i went to glo center to get my handset configured and they told me that it will take a whole week b4 i start browsing with it. even here in uniport the GPRS is very epileptic (right now its not working) guess i have to fall back on my Mtel that i deactivated last week.

@otokx: No sentiments about it. Simply re-activate your Mtel line if it gets the job done :-) @brix: I have enjoyed your 3G debate quite some. I very much doubt how successful 3G will be under the present circumstances in most of Africa. Maybe in another couple of years, it'll be a real spinner. This message was posted from a P800

you really think a 34 billion rand company will spend so much money on something that wasnt thoroughly tested... u think MTN are breaking budget to get a 3G network????

and if you cant afford it then its not targeted to you and u gota live without it..... sorry for you!!!

no network in nigeria boasts of 3G yet there are 3G handsets which are not expensive in the market. i saw a NEC 3G yesterday, such a long ugly piece of grey material. MTN is 2G here and they are very silent on the capabilities of 2.5G.

@Oto , i had the same experience when i visited gloworld in VI, yesterday, they checked the settings i configured from AYA's site, and said it was correct, but my sim has not been provisioned yet , i should write down my phone number, model/make, and expect my activation in three days time, i just hope this time it works!

Don't mind glo people, I had my p910 configed but the browsing experince is slow and patchy at best. The chap that actually configed my phone told me no to bother with features like gprs and that their "magic something" till in his words " they get their act together" I am a vmobile man myself and only got the glo for browsing and other value added features.

I have since stopped putting money on the glo line. Wonderful that it is throw away cheap now.

I am nevertheless considering getting glo's premium line its seem good value right now. If I do won't be throwing that away
