Sorry for the delay.

Currenlty

Voda and O2 can update there phones via the seus.

Some Generics can be done, but this is dependent on the country.

Orange, T-Mob, 3 have still yet to approve..

Regarding the other 2 newfirmwares mentioned. Im still trying to clearly find out what has been done in them, I havnt updated to the new firmware my self and service centers havnt been given the new one just yet.

When i know more i will let people know.

I got that as well after updating the firmware to R1ED. Looks like a bug to me.

Glad it's not just me - thanks for confirming!

However a bug I've noticed that I couldn't see listed on the front page is that when 'phone lock' is set to auto it now seems to flash up the phone lock pin entry screen on bootup. I now get the SIM PIN screen, enter that, then it flashes up the Phone Lock PIN. However before I get a chance to enter a PIN it then continues booting the phone.

Anyone else found this?

Yes i can confirm that happens to me aswell after the update to R1ED001 from R1CB001.

There is a know feature regarding the above phone lock code in firmware ** R1ED001 **

Currenlty if you have updated the phone and do have a phone lock code present (you have switched the feature Auto)

When the phone is switched on, once you have entered the pin number the phone lock code flashes. ** You dont need to place any codes into the phone if you havnt swapped sim cards over ** What is happening the phone is checking that the sim card hasnt been swapped over and inserting the code it self. ** The feature is just telling you that the phone lock code feature is swicthed on **

If you dont have a code or dont use this feature then the phone will not show the phone lock menu.

hope this clears it up for you all.

Hi Darren

Yes that pretty much summarises the behaviour I've seen - where did that text come from, is that an excerpt from something that you've posted or was it an earlier post I missed?

@mwarner - could this get added to the bugs list on p.1?

Cheers

I've just upgraded my phone to the latest R1ED version......first big improvement is definitely the camera refresh rate and the save time.......next big improvements are the internet key having to be held to connect to WAP...(I was constantly pressing it accidentally) and also the 'Press OK' screens being displayed for longer......

I agree with a lot of the previous posts about the music volume......I use my K800 with a set of W850i headphones and a set of MPS-60 speakers and I know they can both handle a bit more volume......espescially the headphones........Would prefer the mega bass to be included on the k800 instead of having to manually adjust the equalizer......but I suppose ya can't be picky.....

Also I'd like to see somebody develop a java application version of the Track ID software that comes on the new walkman branded handsets......not essential....but would be nice.......also I've sent Opera an e-mail asking if they could put an option on Opera Mini to view the pages landscape similiar to the standard browser......

One of my other main concerns is still if the noice on darker pictures......on pictures with both light and dark areas.....the light parts are crystal clear however the dark parts are very unclear and the handset still has trouble taking quality pictures when you have shaky hands.......dissappointed with some pictures I've taken......

All in all though a great handset and even better now with a firmware upgrade....very pleased....

@darrengf

it seems to me you are an insider.... so I ask you... How is it possible, that SE Service Center 2 days ago updated my phone to R1ED001 but did not my EROM it is still R3A011..
In an earlier post you said, that the erom update is offered to service staff when trying to update firmware.
