One more thing, I tried a friend's reltel pda style phone and the browsing speed is commendable and the phone is relatively cheap 40k.

Athough it seemed that battery life was an issue.

Its even browses using html. I hate the fact that the SE uses WAP

There. I thing I got it all out.

@egunjespoilagos:

I have used the dual-SIM thing. Worked fine, but your SIMs have to be cut to size to fit in the contraption.

Pocket PCs have a history of comparatively poor battery performance, though the new ones are getting better.

SE's P-series ALL have HTML capabilities alongside WAP & i-mode. But you need a full internet GPRS account (e.g. GloDirect) to access full Web content.

I see. Would one have to pay for that service, the glodirect.
AYA: With regard to the dua sim, did you get the "automatic one", the one that switches networks itself at pre determined intervals.

I heard that that one will not work with the SE 910 because of its PDA functions and that one will have to get the one that switches manually.

At least thats what I have been told.

@egunje: There is no activation fee for GloDirect, but you have to migrate to a contract package. But then, you also pay less to browse (20-35 kobo per kb, as against 70k per kb for WAP).

Actually, you can access some web content on the built-in browser with just the regualar WAP account. One good trick is to never use "www" before the URL. But regardless, there are some Web sites that just won't load on a WAP account.

I used the manual dual-SIM version, but that was on my old T230. I haven't tried it on a P-series device.

AYA: I have never liked this contract thing. Apart from that, my main line is my vmobile number. The glo will only be subordinate to that. I don't expect you will know if the glo premium package includes glo direct

I will try the dual sim thing. Thanks for the input

@egunje: I understand your feelings about contracts. I have a list of really useful WAP sites I am putting up on http://gosmartmobile.com (includes email, instant messaging, search engines etc). You may want to check it out sometime.

@angel: Congrats! Let's hope this means we see more of you here

@786KBR: Nope; we don't have Voda here. Your dual numbers - are they on the same network? MTN has a similar offering: 2 lines on one SIM. Quite different from 2 SIMS on 1 phone.

i have given out my glo line 08057206569. my main line is my MTN why my auxiliary/office line is my MTEL. i have sent countless enquiries to computerport, even visited their office here in PH but their attitude was poor so i fashed. Now i use 2 handsets and am ok with that. The expensive, effusive (effuicy) SE T630 (MTEL) from 8am - 4pm weekdays and the motorola c115 (MTN) other times. i could not call reltel with my glo line because of connectivity problems and i can't send text to MTEL from my MTN line whereas the reverse goes.
