i'ts coming the wait is almost over it started shipping (don't ask where i got the information) by july 15 it will be in every provider's shop in europe. and by the end of july in canada and the states.
SE has not planned to send the P990i to the US. So your info, wherever you got it from is wrong. Neither tmob usa or Cingular will offer the phone and that is already it in nationwide GSM providers.

@Residentevil - I know the situation is perhaps somewhat different in the US (in that handsets are more closely tied to providers and airtime contracts etc.) but surely it doesn't necessarily mean the phone won't be available SIM free and without a contract?

I maybe about to confirm this in the next 10 minutes i will let you know
But you are wrong about being out in the USA i know for a fact thier is no P990a coming to the states any time soon. Ive heard possably for a X-Mas release.... but that is slim to none.
Sorry i didnt reply thought i did.
but no i did not confirm a date with Sweden today they are still waiting.
I will see in Hong Kong.
How it happens is like this:
A large supplier tells SE we want 500 units to be delivered to our warehouse at release. A line of credit is placed with the creditor and once the items ship the warehouse is notified and the phones usually arrive within 48 hours.
So thier is not much advance notice from the main supplier in Hong KOng or Sweden.
The M600s arrived Saturday i got them monday and they were on ebay on thursday
sorry for the not so good news.... but ill keep everyone posted

Dagens Industri, a Swedish busniess news paper wrote a few days ago about the P990. SE then said it will be released the second week in July.
Here's the link (it' in swedish)
http://www.di.se/Avdelningar/[....]on=TeknikTrender;TeknikNyheter
It's basically saing that it's been delayed beacuse of prioratizing the m600 and not beacuse of software problems.

Well a poster at my-symbian (P800WOW) seems to be indicating first availability as tomorrow (last day of Q2!) and Expansys have told another poster that they will stocks around 7th July. So looks like exciting times for tne next few weeks...and then a few months of calm before the W950 is released...

Do you reckon Expansys price is acurate? Seems quite steep. Was hoping it would be more around the £550 mark.

Not in the slightest. I see no reason why the official price will be any different to the P910i launch price of £499. Play.com for example have always quoted £499.
Expansys always try to get away with obscene pricing on preorders, for the people who must have a device first at any cost, and to be honest I don't blame them - it is what Expansys specialise in and if people are prepared to pay it...
Mind you IMO anyone who'd pay £665 for one would have to be bonkers.
