it seems to me you are an insider.... so I ask you... How is it possible, that SE Service Center 2 days ago updated my phone to R1ED001 but did not my EROM it is still R3A011..
In an earlier post you said, that the erom update is offered to service staff when trying to update firmware.

Can I ask Where you got the update done.

All the UK service centers have to update the EROM before the phone can be updated to the latest software version.

It also Depends on how they update the phone. ** Via which server they connect to **

Is this also true of updates via SEUS ?

I updated my O2 UK branded K800i to R1ED001 using SEUS, but the EPROM level still reports as R3A011 - or does the EPROM version number not get updated even though the EPROM does ? (Which would make it a bug). Is there any way to check ?

SEUS cannot currently update the EROM - see the first post.

Ah, but that's why I asked as
1) Darrrengf says that service centres have to update the EPROM to perform the firmware update - if SEUS can do it without the update then why can't service centres ?

2) He's also said that SEUS needed to be rewritten to be able to update the EPROM so as to be able to update the firmware - if that was/is correct it implies that the EPROM should also be have been upgraded by SEUS as one wasn't possible without the other - see my confusion ?

Perhaps while SEUS isn't updating the EPROM that line should be removed from "improvements" as it doesn't apply to all devices. The same probably applies to the internet button action. Perhaps a seperate section is needed for these 'differences' which are dependant on flash method.

And can someone tell me if the Nokia like menu which pops up on a short push of the power button is new with R1ED001, or has it been there all the time and I have been pushing the power button for too long to see it previously ?
