Only German from what I know, maybe a few other European countries. All other countries seem to be getting Sharp panel mainly.

Asia/Middle East/Japan/Australia/UK/France is not affected.

@ Random user , JDC also part of JDI and the contrast ratio is 1000:1 , then how come 500 and 650 .. due to some software issue the contrast ratio went down ??

That's good news. Is there any way to check this without root?

Nope.

@Xperia_sakth

The JDC panels used must be unfinished panels (quality wise). More like beta panels. Or simple lower grade screens made for Sony.

What an incredible mistake!!!!
Being in Germany, Sony lost me as a customer as I needed a phone but couldnt buy the Z because of that screen.

They make so "easy" mistakes. Well, hopefully they keep on improving so by next year, one can buy one of their handsets without having to worry to much about missing features, faulty batches etc...as I really like their design and overall package.

The only way is to check it visually, but you have to know each one before to be able to identify which panel is used...

Z is selling out all around the world. It looks like Sony underestimated the demand for it.
