my psp arrived and at the moment i am charging it. when i opened it there was a note saying i had to put the demo umd in to upgrade the firmware to version 2.0 before using my psp.

Apparently upgrading to firmware version 2.0 is the worst possible thing you can do. Something to do with homebrew or summat i read.

homebrew allows you to launch special applications and games etc... some dude got windows 95 running on his psp using some homebrews!

I just picked up an Aussie spec PSP about an hour ago. Pity about the lack of homebrew on ver 2.0 as i'm looking forward to launching my custom apps and emulators. Good thing about 2.0 is the native browser and expanded connectivity.

i can't find infrarad on the psp anywhere. i see the port on top and thats it. i wanted to test the infrared to see if it works but can't see it anywhere!

well we'll be using it in future firmware upgrade.. it has the ability to control ur Sony devices such as Tv, Dvd player, PS2 etc... something like a home media device.... which is kinda cool..
