I have a question for the orange blackberry gurus as orange themselves have not been able to answer.

Now I know with the BB add on that all BIS access is included, but what if you have an application which wont connect by BIS but will by TCP, will you get charged for this as its using the orangeinternet apn and not the BIS one?

Reason for asking, I am practising my BB development and have an app which requires an internet connection, however to get it to use BIS I have to pay and have it approved by RIM, obviously not something I want to do just for a test app im writing. I can get it to connect by WiFi and TCP but want to know if using TCP will the data be chargeable, Im getting a friend to test it and she doesnt want any extra data charges so need an answer for this before I get her to test latest build

cheers

I`m using twitterberry on my bold and i have an icon that says +99 and the twitter logo i`m guessing this means there has been over 99 updates since my last visit but how do i clear it i have read all the tweets but the icon remains on the homepage.
Also is there a better app for twitter on the bold

You cant have Blackberry on a O2 PAYG SIM. You can set the APN settings on the phone so you can access the net but it would be restricted and you wouldnt get your emails on the phone.
As Nanu mentioned you could get Blackberry if you got a Simplicity account.

Thanks!!

The phone didn't arrive today.......

So Hopefully tomorrow and I will call to the O2 shop to get it sorted!

Would there be any problem with me just swapping my Vodaphone contract SIM that I use in my Bold, now and then?

It'll come out of your web usage allowance..

It'll connect via a different apn but it'll still be free...

I'll post a pic

Hope that answers your q!

Hi!

Advice on this question would be helpful!

Would there be any problem with me just swapping my Vodaphone contract SIM that I use in my Bold, now and then to the Pearl 8120?

and I got another one, which I think I understand, but want to double check.

I am hoping an BB Pearl 8120 arrives tomorrow and I want to reflash it, for my friends, so it supports Japanese.

I downloaded - 8120EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel108_PL2.7.0.78_A4.5.0.81_Voda_Australia.exe

So my question is - Is this procedure correct?

1. Launch BB Desktop Manager (4.6) and connect the 8120 and the Desktop will pick up the unique BlackBerry pin.

2. Click on the 8120EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel108_PL2.7.0.78_A4.5.0.81_Voda_Australia.exe file and.... wait..!

3... This is what I can't remember ! What should I expect to happen next!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I am wondering whether to install BB Desktop Manager 4.6 on my VAIO thereby keeping my Bold and the 8120 separate.

I can try the update for the 8120 from the VAIO.

I really don't want to mess things up!
