A few rumors for Sony competitors. S IV is supposed to release in April with an S Pen and a quad-core Exynos 5440, thicker, 9.2mm body to support a 3000+ mAh, 5-inch 1080p AMOLED display.

ZTE Grand S will have almost identical specs as Yuga, a 6.9mm profile, a 2500mAh battery.

After looking at several of the upcoming 5" Android phones I think that Yuga/Odin must have some features that have not been leaked yet.
I heard a rumor that Odin will pack a larger battery than Yuga.

So the ZTE G S will be $449? Oppo Find 5 is $500 they say. I have a good feeling Sony won't match this with Yuga. They probly will with Dogo but spec wise it sounds below the Grand S and Find 5. I hope Sony gets competitive with pricing not just specs, may not look good revealing a $600+ around those two. My opinion at least.

^^^ Sony does not compete when it cones to price. I do not think that Yuga will be below $ 700 and Odin will be around $600 or very close to other competition from HTC, Samsung and so on.

Pricing isn't as simple as one might think.
That's why massive corporations pay Acturists and Market Analysts and Psychologists, millions of $£$ every year for this very issue. Who knows, the Odin/Yuga's superior build quality and premium price tag, may attract more customers who are looking to buy a so-called "Premium" product. The more expensive and exotic the better.
Why is it that so many people, who barely have the money, buy iPads, and MacBooks. They're after cool points and status symbols. The name Sony means a whole lot more than ZTE or Oppo (who are probably selling their phones at close to cost, which Sony simply cannot afford given their financial situation). Of course Sony's handsets will probably look better and its already shown that the build quality is fantastic.

That having been said, sensible pricing is the order of the day. They shouldn't get ahead of themselves and charge more than Apple or Samsung. At this stage they don't have the brand recognition in the smartphone arena to pull something like that off.

EDIT: To add to this, the Yuga's preproduction model got hot at ~8mm thickness (this is due to APQ8064 chipset, Nexus 4 and Optimus G have had heating issues). Imagine how hot something that is a mere 6.9mm will get.....

^^^
I was thinking the exact same thing. It will be a very hot phone at 6.9mm thickness.

Overheat is not an issue with Yuga
Cuz it has the most advance fast cooling features .......
Just throw it in a bucket of ice for 30 secs
Problem solved

I sure hope that there will be a new SmartWatch from Sony. Rumors are floating around that Apple is making one for iPhone because of how successful Sony was with the SamrtWatch.

Any word on a x10/Arc/P 4inch successor? It's the perfect size, I am dismayed at the huge phones getting the best specs. The P is a wonderful phone, I hope to get its successor.

Anyone else think Sony is being conservative in their sales estimate of 50 million smartphones for 2013 fiscal year? Now there are articles saying Samsung is predicting a very bold estimate of 350 million handsets sold -- in Samsung's dreams. The competition next year will be a lot tighter, especially with the entrance of Chinese OEMs to the global market and the resurgence of Sony and HTC.

The 2012 fiscal year ends in March 2013 which means 2012 will get a couple of about a month of Yuga/Odin/Dogo sales before all is said and done. That's the reason why I think 2012 sales will be higher than Sony's goal of 34 million smartphones and why 2013 will pass even their 50 million goal.

Guys, kindly do not quote posts with large pics such as the one posted in this page (quoted 3-4 times already).

Not even when the pic is so nice?
Okay, won't do it again.
