Yeah, all quiet on the home front at the mo...
Well, I dunno about reception in various beautiful places in SA, but places along the Garden Route is where it's at for me. Absolutely love Knysna, Vic Bay close to George, etc.
Or further along the coast and well into the Eastern Province, the beaches east of my beloved eMonti, or...oh hell,so many places. We really do have a beautiful country.

Was looking around Orange's various sites around the world and checked out the Orange Botswana site.Anyone have any experience of the Orange network in Botswana?

So true, Amawanqa, it's quite breathtaking in most places along the Garden Route. Between Uniondale and Knysna lies Prince Alfred's Pass. Should one follow the gravel road for about 30km one finds a pristine waterfall.... Heaven on earth, imo. And full signal too, last time i was there This message was posted from a Nokia

@ kryptik,
You're speaking my language...went over the pass 2 years ago and what an awesome view from the summit as well. Also stopped at the stream crossing along the lower gorge, surrounded by those vermilion rock faces. Carpe diem.
BTW, the Prince Alfred hotel serves up one of the BEST buffets I have ever sampled...truly pig-out deluxe! Not too shabby at all for such a unasuming 'dorpie'....
Can't remember one single iota about signal strength around there;with a beautiful wife accompanying me and the immediate natural world around us doing its 'awe and wonder' thing, wondering about how many of Vodacom's signal bars were trying to manifest themselves on the 7250's screen that I had back then in 2003 was not too high on the agenda...

We have a family holiday home in Haarlem that's been in the fam since the dawn of time, it seems. I don't get there as often as i'd like, but from there the pass is 15min away... Next time you're there sample the water from that mountain stream. It's free of harmful goggas, and absolutely worth the drive. This message was posted from a Nokia

Huh, you chaps talk about places in South Africa or what. They can't be that 'dangerous' can they ? Me and my family 'wife, 3 kids and servant' are going in November on a nice SA tour. (Durban,Jhb/Pretoria,Maputo,Kruger) My father in law joked about us not using my wife's car.(I prefer my Combi with a small Venter trailer) The Camrey is nice too , but when it comes to sheer space, obviously the Caravelle wins hands down. Now is it true that blacks hijack minibuses to use them for taxis ?

WTF?????????? Arsehole!! Yes they do hijack caravelles for their engines, please come here I hope they hijack you!!!!

@brix jhb is worst than Durbs guy just becareful, watch your back.

@ kryptik,
forgive me,but upon waking up this morning,it dawned (sic) on me that I was referring to the Prince ALBERT pass, nestled in the Swartberg mountain range & not the Outeniqua which separates the Garden Route's coastal towns from part of the 'binneland'.I should have remembered a tad more vividly;I got to know the Swartberge relatively well when I did my National Service JL's at Oudtshoorn's Infantry School, with the last of the intakes in '93...
