"Bookmarks listed directly in the Internet section of the task menu rather than in a Bookmarks submenu"
I do not understand this... In R1ED001 and R1CB001 the bookmarks in the bookmarks submenu first, but after the first use it is under the Internet section directly. It was the same in every version, it is not a new improvement...

@sapporobaby:
Well, I haven't been anywhere lately actually..just being a good observer..yeach, because no new findings to be reported.
Collaborating with mwarner? Well, I do appreciate it, but I know who I am. I'm just a humble user of K800i. My knowledge isn't that much..I prefer to be the ordinary 'aremaboy'. If I find new findings, I report and share. If I don't understand,I'll ask..just that.

On R1CD001 on the K610 bookmarks were always via the Bookmarks submenu on the activity menu, now they appear directly on the top level of this menu.

hey
i don know if this has been mentioned anywhere in this thread
if it has been please excuse the repost if not then im sure it might be handy
the two navigation buttons(used for viewing pictures in standby) above the screen next to the earphone can be used to scroll up and down in the file manager (only)
in the pictures folder if u have thumbnails one button takes u directly to the last picture while the other to takes u to the first pic from anywhere in the folder.
same for videos folder.
in the themes, games and application folder it can be used to scroll up n down
do try it out

I tried to update my curent firmware using SE update...
- it downloaded (serviceclient_USDoe1_2006-10-24_19.53.37.cry")
- it updated
- i restarted but no change from my sig.
It said it was classed as Europe 2.
Shouldnt the latest for AU be R1EG001? Or have I got this wrong.
any info appreciated guys, cheers.

Other findings on R1ED001, please others verify:
After updating via SEUS, I don't know if Wotan too, I notice that some mp3 files can't be played anymore. It was revealed by accident when I scrolled through my Music folder. I have these message alerts downloaded from SE Fun&Downloads section of K800i or other type, I forget---Jangler, Alien Noise and Pulse---and now they simply can't be played! Whenever I manually play it, it says : can't play this sound. Other mp3 files--ringtones, songs--can be played perfectly. I don't know why. I have deleted them, and re-installed, but it was no success. As a note, they are just fine when played with WinAmp, on K750i and W800i. On the previous f/w they are played perfectly..
Two of the files are under Message Alerts on:
http://wap.sonyericsson.com/f[....]evice?cc=GLOBAL&dn=K800i&lc=en
Alien Noise and Jangler are located on page 2 of Message Alerts section.
Hi aremaboy,
There seems to be a slight encoding error in those two files,
on a pc you are correct most media programs handle them ok but even dBpowerAMP doesn't like them when trying to convert!
As soon as they are re-encoded with the same settings as they were originally encoded with they work fine on the k800i with the R1ED001 firmware.

I wonder if they have updated the codecs on the new firmware and the decoder error tolerance level is different so is tripping up on these files

Hi, i have R1CB001. In the service menu, software info, after camera version, etc, it says Customization CDA102511/13 R7A cxc1250490 R1CB001 E_PLUS. The phoneworks with sims from all the providers i tested, Orange, Vodafone, Cosmote and Zapp so i dont think it's branded. Also there is no E Plus sign on it anywere, just in the meniu it says E Plus WAP, left to the Internet icon.
I'm trying to update using seus and it says i already have the latest version. What's wrong ? tks for your help

Thank you, dcuk. That's a great technical explanation. So, it's a matter of encoding. At least we know that this is repairable. Anyone else with more explanation, please?
