@amawanqa, whilst in Oudtshoorn, ever get to sample the local plonk aka Vollie? I had that dubious pleasure once ;o) wrt Prince Alfred v Albert, both passes are awesome. My wife still raves about our last drive along both. This message was posted from a Nokia

@ kryptik,
Can't say I have. The odd 'dorpspas' usually meant a pilgrimage 2 the Spur & a few shops 4 necessities or 2 draw money for the canteen. However,I shoulda maybe experienced the Vollie when we stayed nearby at De Hoek for the Buffalo Rally in 94 & 95...
Next time you notice the reservoirs on top of Butt Kop overlooking Oudtshoorn, you'll see the er...footpaths around them, made by countless army boots going up that infamous hill, are still very visible...

Was planning on leaving the Big Smoke 2morro but had to cancel those plans when I discovered to my horror that all plains, trains and buses to Cape Town were fully booked (schools are opening on Monday). Next time I'll plan my stays here way in advance. About 3G reception it's been good in Jozi but at times patchy, nothing worth making a song and dance over. This message was posted from a WAP device

@amawanqa, i had a lekker laugh when i saw your reference to the Army. My military experience was limited to dodging patrols during the old days! Those pre-cellular days hold both good and bad memories. Thankfully we've moved on to bigger and better things. This message was posted from a Nokia

Funny thing is when I was staying in Observatory I was told Telkom wouldn't install ADSL in the area due con artists using the phone lines to committ fraud (calling overseas). Was thinking that my 3G connection was faster than the dial-up internet I was looking to check up on flights to the Mother City. Now why can't kulula.com come up with a wap site? @Brix, interesting point. I recall trying to book a show via Computicket. Seems they don't have a wapsite in S.Afr whilst the UK does. Same applies to some airlines having wapsites. Methinks we've got some catching up to do. This message was posted from a Nokia

Instead of wap, local mobile companies have decided to go for Wireless Application Services(*120*number) which kinda sucks. Would love to have a wap site for Ster Kinekor and all the most popular service providers. This message was posted from a WAP device

All of it geared towards greater profitability... Maybe in time they'll venture into the world of wap... Anybody know of local companies with wapsites? This message was posted from a Nokia
