i usually end my contract then get a new one (soemtimes even to the same provider) k=just to benefit on the discounts for new contracts. This year didn't port my number due to T Mo being arses about releasing the line (bastids) but i fully intend to do that next time around with voda.
I still believe it's arse that a loyal customer pays more than a new one. Bad policies.

Lets say over here, I'd have to 'serve' the minimum term on the contract and then I give 1 months notice to cancel it.
In the meantime, I look for a new contract and I find my current provider might have the best deal to offer. But I've already cancelled my contract with them and I'm in mylast month using it. So I close a new contract, with new phone new terms everything, and inform them i want to keep my current number, which is still 'in the air' basically. They may give me some trouble, but my contract is cancelled perfectly to the terms, so if they don't give me the new contract they'll lose me as a customer
It's worked before and I've never experienced trouble with it. In the end they really do want you to buy their contract

Well i actually took out extra insurance which allows me to cancel my contract in first 3 months of signing up. But i'm not sure if they will let me cancel and sign up again on same network. I guess i'll take a trip to cpw next weekend and see what they can do. :-)

As for the moding forum, me has got somethig good to stick in there, as me and a matey in college sucessfully hacked a PSOne TFT to run on VGA via RGB, so a nice 5 inch VGA display is going in my rig as a temp/games/ Winamp screen
I'll have everything watercooled within 5 weeks as well, Ibcant bloody wait!
Oh, btw, if you buy a P9 on Orange, and want it unlocked, I can prolly do that (as well as any other SE phones for that matter
