or you could just edit individual sounds, in ECS's case the 'critical stop' and choose (none) as the sound, maybe a little better than loosing EVERY sound hey guys!

usb2 = 480mbp/s
firewire = 400mbp/s

external hard-disc-drive if you can afford one, you pick up reasonable sized 160GB ones like this one from Maxtor for about £130 and its nice and easy to use.

EDIT; I can't type on my new laptop typo's everywhere lmao

Yup, I agree with Defensive, Maxtor one-touch hard drives are the quickest and easiest way to back up your data.

If you want to create an entire back up of your hard drive to DVD, then Norton Ghost is my preferred app:

However, if you only have a small number of important files to back up, a 1 or 2Gb USB pen drive might be adequate.

i need some help. not really pc related but you may be able to help. i have just brought a new mp3 player off an esato member but the fm radio is real crap. crapper than the free ones you can get. hardly picks up any signal. its a mp3 player off ebay so no warranty as far as i know. i love listening to the radio but its impossible. would this be hardware or software related. i have my old mp3 player here aswell which has a bad firmware. i was thinking that i could swap the fm chips but that would be way too hard. any other ideas?

It's almost certainly going to be hardware related and I'm afraid to say that there's not really a lot you can do about it

If the mp3 player has a socket for an external antenna then you could get one of those long wire type antennas and try that. Might improve reception quite a bit.

I don't think it's possible to swap the 'fm chips' over. Even if the mp3 players were identical, they're likely to use surface mount IC's which makes them practically impossible to de-solder, at least not without specialist equipment.
