all I can say, is the more we (the west) are able to "turn the other cheek" the more effective we will show how freedom of speach works. So bring on the tit for tat. If only muslim countries retaliate with tit for tat, and if we in the west can laugh, with good humour and without spite, at what ever jokes they dig up, then we will have shown what it means to be strong enough to take a joke on the chin without anger.

So let's laugh ourselves stupid people! Bring on the jokes - jokes about christian missionaries, the holocaust. Bring it all on. Dump shit on Jesus, make fun of jews in New York (hell they do that themselves aka Seinfeld), laugh at all our traditions, make fun of our hero's, laugh at our political leaders (we do).

Will we care what anyone says? I know it makes no difference to me. Make fun of my mother if you like. She'll laugh as hard as anyone. Especially if it's a good joke

If this fool knew anything about Islam he would have known that its forbidden to draw or make a picture of what he thinks the prophet looked like, let alone write a book about Him for Islamic kids or non Islamic kids!!!!!

Muslim children are taught about the prophet in madressahs around the world!!!

to laugh if it's funny, to ignore it if it isn't, and to care no more about what people say than if they had said nothing at all

i think what max was saying is that their beliefs are their own, as long as they dont go drawing pics of mohamed etc... then i personally cannot see a problem... we should have respect but not have to have a lifestyle change because of someone elses beliefs.... Catolics believe in going to church on a sunday etc... would a catholic flip off the handle because a muslim questioned this? i think not, we live in a very liberal world and freedom of speech is one thing each and everyone of us has, i think the people affended by this should just let it go, surely they are the ones making huge issues with regard to this and in my opinion, they are digging holes they will find it very differcult to climb out of.

(max if this aint what you mean, sorry - but this is my opinion of it all).

yep, some lines aint ment to be crossed - like murder, rape, etc.... but drawing cartoons?

If a muslim did this then id say its disrespectful (as its their beliefs), i simply feel people are making a mountain out of this.... If they dont like it, dont read the bloody cartoon.

I know many muslins who go against their faith all the time with drinking and drug abuse.... its that crossing the line?

Just trying to understand what 'lines taht are not ment to be crossed' are interperated as....

Personally i think whats your belief - is yours... and no cartoon etc should affect that... isnt there more important things to sort out than a cartoon?
