@masseur,

Please keep us informed on how you get on using both devices concurrently.

I should have my Vodafone 1605 tonight or first thing tommorow, but i cant compare it to the p990i as i dont or know anyone who has one.

After reading everything i could find on the net about the P990i i have found myself doing the one thing i thought i never would and started to research the TyTN. And to my complete surprise, I think I have decided on getting it over the 990.

reason: the Keyboard, and the vast array of 3rd party apps.

when i thought about not using PocketBreeze and PocketInformant - i started to think how i would cope.

I appreciate all the user posts on their experiences of these two phones.

Has to accept returns as i need to return 1 any ideas guys on the best place to get one?

Thanks

Clove is a good bet. They are the cheapest SIM free too, and Jah posted a 5% discount code for them a little while back too.

I see there is a few of us now having either bought os decided to buy both devices and it is fascinating seeing different peoples repsonses to both devices.

@Jah - it seems like you are leaning towards the P990i over the TyTN?

I'll tell you this though - and here is an interesting idea - what if the TyTN was actually made by SE in a P990i style case, with the SE quality camera, and decent screen. They would have an absolute stormer of a product which would probably mange to take a huge chunk out of HTC's market share. I know I'd buy one.

Is the Tytn the same thickness as the p990 with its flip off or is it thicker?

Hehe indeed it would be a stonker of a phone, perhaps SE will replace the p990i with something like that but keep it in the p990i form factor. I knowid jump at getting one as the TYN TYN seems to be an excellent pda/phone

So for those who have both which is the keeper after a few days usage?

The p990 or Tytn?

got the p990 but im finding its a little basic after using windows smartphones/ppc for the past few years.

For me personally its the P990i that is the keeper, but if you ask Masseur for example I suspect he would say the TyTN.
If I could really justify it I would probably keep both though .

The thing is, both devices are very good at what they do - neither really has any major problems as such and I think ultimately the decision comes down to what your personall need is - and this is a question unfortuntely nobody but yourself can answer. This is probably why there are a few of us who have bought both devices in order to decide which meets our needs better.

TyTN, till the P990 is more widely used and available...

Ive moved from the Vario to the TyTN, and i must say a great improvement.

It kills my to let the P990i go!

still TyTN for my and I think J273 has a nice little summary there

anyway, here are a couple of pics taken today outside the Hotel opposite Marylebone station. These Lambo's have been there for a couple of weeks now

First the TyTN
full size

Then the P990i
