I agree with you joel. Main question is the battery indicated in the white papers and many review forums for this handset does not in fact tally with the end product.All those who bought the phones claim getting BST-33 in lieu of BST-34 which is actually supposed to come along in the package. Strange from SE.

Here in Singapore, we are also getting the BST-33 instead of the BST-34.
Does it not fall under EU law of false marketing and possibility of a redress ?

IMHO, this thread is losing its focus on firmware ...

Return you P990
Who are these moles? Please expand.
At My-symbian and here at Easto we have had an open and frank discussion about the P990. And these two sites have a lot of traffic. Both have threads on 'bugs & issues'.
Please remember not everyone needs all the P990 functions. I do not now have an Exchange server to sync with and I have no need for push email as my laptop is connected 14 hrs a day. Which means we don't all have negative observations to make as we have not yet discovered what does not work as we don't need it. So how can we complain about a function we don't use?

It seems that the low memory problem will remain with this version of symian (9.1). There is already talk about symbian 9.3 which will address the low memory problem much more effectively.
If that's the case people will have to live with this if they still want to own a P990. They will just have to use the task manager more effectively in order to keep multitasking operating as well as possible..
A bit like windows mobile 5.0 I guess. The difference there is that there is more RAM available at the moment plus there is applications like spb plus and magic button that give you the option to kill applications when exiting..
Perhaps we will soon see a similar 3rd party application for this OS.

@p9nineo
if you kill the messaging process and then re-start it in FO mode the Delete Messages menu option will be available. When you start the Messaging app in FC mode and then later try to use it in FO mode the Delete Messages option does not appear.
