vodafone p990 is unlocked
i have used both O2 and vodafone sim in mine - no issue
seems to have other issues though

i ordered mine on wednesday night, and am currently waiting for it! just did a track and trace its gona arrive today! am so excited!

hate to b the bringer of bad news peeps... but its very unlikely that there will be an easy option to debrand the P990i's
Have u ever seen davinciteam.com or wotanserver offer the self service to debrand? nope didnt think so... for one big reason....
These phones are using Symbian based operating systems not dummy OS like K800i, K700i and others similiar....
Only way is going to be via Official Service Centres which will be under obligation by the networks (who have a lot more financial clout than us put together!) NOT to debrand them away from the networks branding...
So looks like u will have to wait for better firmware from Voda which can take anything upto 3-4mths longer to test and release than generic FW does!

check out TMS's update of 9th Sep. They found another way to debrand the P800 - P910's firmwares.
