changing the cda changes the firmware region, NOT a SIM LOCK. So if you phone is unlocked now, it will be afterwards. Same goes if its locked to a provider, it will be still locked!

one has nothing to do with the other
SIM Lock means that you can only use the SIM from the service provider that locked the phone!

Did you try the SEUS method? Or the davinci team method. Anyways, the davinci team should be able to help you with this... If you originally used their software and that caused this problem they'll help you out for free as far as I've read. Otherwise you might have to pay about 20 euros.
I read more about this problem with the SEUS method but appearantly the solution was just to update a few times. But if that doesn't work for you I don't really know what the alternatives are except perhaps paying a bit to fix it.

well i have tried the free method, but the updates just keep failing. So i tried davici and that gives 2 cda's on my handset the old one and the new one. So seus thinks its still orange branded. I have emailed davinci with this. Any idea how long they take to get back to you.

It took about 6 days for a problem I had with wrong cda's. But in your case it maybe faster as you just could try to flash your phone again. How many credits did you buy before flashing? I know of another case were someone flashed with 10 credits and got the same result...
