well ice does not melt in a microwave for a certain reason,

a microwave works by sending micro waves out to the product(food etc), the microwaves being sent out causes the particles in the product to move really fast (the particles are just thrown around), this constant moving creates heat and cooks the food, more microwaves (power setting) means faster particles generating more heat, with ice all the particles are frozen, when the waves hit it the particles do not move because they are locked in, therefore its not generating heat, so the ice does not melt!!!!!!!!
