Is the 3.0 update actually adding any new features as were stated earlier in the thread by its users?

Not one thing has yet been confirmed by apple, not even any information on the next iPhone model,. everything stated about future updates / releases regarding the iPhone are made up hype from its fanbase.
It seems that the next iPhone is just going to be a 32 GB version of the current one. Wow, what an upgrade.
I would like the iphone to actually do one thing its meant to do properly and not be praised just because its an apple device and has an i in the name.

You talk such nonsense!
Here is the press release for the iPhone 3G Developer Beta released in March.
On the
Apple homepage is a link to a preview of what's in store.
There is no rumours or speculation for those who go to the source.
As for hardware upgrades being limited to memory and wifi n, what about that is inconsistant with hardware upgrades to iPods over the years? Personally I think there will be some new colours too. Whoopee!
Upping the cam to 3.2 Mp is not necessary, making the existing cam better, is necessary. ATM, even my 2.0Mp V640i runs rings around it. If the iPhone cam could match my V640i I'd be very happy as V640i photos look spectacular on the iPhone's large screen.

Everyone know the way to beat the iphone :
- create a device that superceeds the iphone in all features,
- give it the magical value (this creates the hype) and Support, Support, Support!
consumers should see it as a device that stays meeting up with the current trend.
The thing is, no such device is out yet.
Everyone assumes that the way to beat the iPhone is to add new hardware features. The iPhone doesn't compete in hardware features, it competes with user experience and downloadable software (apps). No-one else competes with Apple effectively in those two things. The Palm Pre will but it'll start out with CDMA and I doubt any large quantities of Pre will leave the US anytime soon. The Idou might, (I hope it does) but basically manufacturers need to throw out there past thinking and put decent screens and processors into their phones, even the low end ones and expect those phones not to be fundamentally changed for up to 3 years. That means changing their business model from 'make money from selling lots of new phones' to 'make money from keeping customers satisfied long term and buying lots of useful and entertaining apps'.
That's a big shift in the industry and not many manufacturers are ready to make it. And meanwhile the first generation iPhone and iPod Touch are still relevant... even without fancy cameras and A/F. Come firmware 3.0 they'll be even more relevant instead of less.
This all has to do with support

All the idiots who praise it as the second coming and it being consider the greatest phone yet when it clearly blows. THAT is how someone can come to hate a phone.
Lucky I finished my coffee before reading the above, otherwise my screen would have been in need of cleaning.

guys, plz stick to the thread. Just say why u think d iPhone is more relevant than most of d others. Ur opinion might not be in line with someone else. That d human differences thing; but plz sis thread is not to say how crap or how bad d iPhone is or comparing d iphone vs. Anyother. U could start a thread like:
- "what's ur opinion about d iphone" or
- "what don't u like about d iPhone" or
- "iPhone vs. (any other model)"

Sorry, I just thought se_love's post was hilarous. I think he'll be very embarrassed reading his own posts when he grows up.

I agree Abu, that post was silly.
Bhavv, give it up! The Iphone has got the IT factor and works beautifully. This thing about it not having this or that feature is tired. Apple have done a superb job in creating an unrivalled user experience which counts a lot. For their first phone it is a damn good effort!
Like I've said before, I'm probably going to buy an Iphone at some point but not the current or upcoming one but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate it.

I believe that it is disingenuous for some of us not to admit that the iPhone for a first phone from a manufacturer was not only good but superb. It forced many others who mainly focused on jamming extra capabilities such as higher megp cameras and allowed user easy to suffer.
What seems to make the iPhone keep going is that although its a smart phone it is does not take a phone genius to operate it and it's UI is far friendly than many others before it.
Many of the owners are first time smart phone owners who had only had basic mobiles before. The iPhone allowed them to make the leap with ease.
Also note too that the iPhone came not needing many if any major updates to its software in order for it to function as advertised. Don't tell

that.
Still not an iPhone fan
