The official figures for battery life say the X10 is better than the X10 Mini? Is that true? Seems a bit odd when it has a slower processor and smaller screen? It's the other way around for the HTC Desire and new HTC Wildfire.... The Wildfire's quoted battery life for standby is about twice that of the Desire, which makes sense to me. I'm going to be in the market for an Android handset soon, but don't want one where the battery only lasts a short time.
Sure, X10 mini has a smaller screen and slower CPU, but then it also has a much weaker battery as well (950 mAh vs. 1500 mAh). The battery difference between HTC wildfire and desire is much smaller (1300 mAh vs. 1400 mAh). So it all makes sense. In reality however, I doubt you would notice any big difference (charging every night seem to be the norm for all smartphones with normal usage).

@Arne Anka
Thanks for that, I didn't realise the battery was that different in the SE's. Might have to get a Wildfire then

It does not. Only one keyboard pre-installed on the X10 Mini. But you can install OpenWnn on it.

Shouldn't come as a suprise since the mini is so much smaller than X10 (its even smaller than HTC wildfire). More powerfull battery would probably have required a slightly bigger body as well, but then it would not have been a "mini" anymore I guess.
Never the less, as I stated above, whatever phone you get, be prepared to charge every night at average.

I do like the look of the Mini, but on the other hand I would be more likely to buy any well made Android handset who's battery lasted a lot longer than the others...

Just handled the mini for the first time today, couldnt believe how small it was, like a small box of matches !
Impressive little handset. Too small for me to use however !

I probably would too, if such device existed and was as small and good looking as X10 mini.
Unfortenately, I have not found such device yet.

I'm planning to buy this phone.
Had called up the Official Sony Ericsson shop here in Chennai, India and checked out the availability and price of this phone. The guy at the shop told me that it will be available in 3 days and the price wud be 15500 INR that is approx US 350$. And the accessories that come in the package are charger, data cable, headset and manual. Thats much the guy told me and didnt say anything abt the extra back covers for the phone. And the headset is HPM 70 with a 3.5 mm jack.
Isn't it supposed to come with MH810 or MH710? the sales guy told me twice upon asking again that the headset is HPM 70. May be he doesn't know? Anybody who has bought this phone can confirm this?
