Sony rebranding SE phones already in development would be a very questionable move but might be likely.
Would be nice to see the SONY badge on their very own product.a fresh start.

I just bought a xperia neo v just before the announcement, now will my phone be supported for ICS? Im hoping so as with the rest of the 2011 Xperias. What happens with warranty etc? Sony Mobile division simply takes over? Im not sure i have made a right move buying an SE this late as it could be risky with warranty. Anyone know about the future of the 2011 phones?

Yeah mine is white too, is it a good phone? I cant wait for mine. I have been looking at comments about it on other sites and people are complaining about the heat when charging and using Bravia, is this happening to you? Maybe its similar to the xperia mini, that has heat problems but only in really hot climates so Melbourne might be ok
although gets bloody hot there e in Summer hehe!! Im happy with the kiwi summer!

I'm sure they will still support our phones, well they better but yeah by the sounds of it, it will probably be a slow transition there is a lot of rebranding to go through think website, advertising, public relations (facebook, youtube) etc. So I wouldn't expect to see Sony phones for a while...imo
It wouldn't make any sense not to support our phones, especially when the company learnt from the 2010 line up about how important updates were, remember half of this is still sony so surely this knowledge will continue? Also I think there was some EU law where phone companies had to keep supporting their phones for up to 16 months or something.
If worst comes to worst, there is always the unofficial option and with SE supporting these methods it can only mean that we have options. (I wouldn't touch my arc with modding it's too new still
maybe in a couple of years)

@chunkybeats you'll find most phones will become warm with use it's normal. Although if it's piping hot I'd be concerned. My Samsung GS2 gets warm.

That`s why they want to leave the joint venture with Samsung about S-LCD panels. It will be tough year for Sony I guess with a lots of restructures and reorganizations.
