I'm blown by the details in those shots.
.... but then when I pixel peep it, I can still tell it's from the Xperia Z5 and it's probably not as impressive as it may seem when displaying in 100% size.

review by The Verge

all praises for the camera.

it would really be impressive if the bus here is moving:

just imagine how it thrashes the long exposures of OIS-toting smartphone cameras.
i am inclined to believe that not all z5s in the market are the same. some are better than the others. it could be a lens issue or others have not been updated yet. the samples from the verge are really impressive. the noise is unlike what we've seen anywhere. dxomark must have tested a unit similar to what the verge has obtained.

so is z5 able to crack 60k+ Antutu benchmark yet? I know long term usage with minial throttling is more important but I am also concern about futureproofing. Also how fast is the storage, irc Z3 had the fastest when it was release.

"The big reason for why you’d want to be an Xperia Z5 owner is the camera. I’m not going to waste time with any preamble: this is easily Sony’s best mobile camera and absolutely one of the best on any smartphone. The new camera has surprised me in different ways: from its ability to focus in low light, to its image stabilization ensuring steady shots, to the quality and detail of its final output..." - The Verge.
Wow, it seems the camera is really good.

xz5 vs ip6s vs lumia 1020 vs pv 808

No surprise that the two phones with proper (Xenon) flash, the Nokia 808 and Lumia 1020, pull off an almost perfect pub photo, with crisp subject and pleasing lighting. But the Xperia Z5 gets closest of the LED flash challengers, with a 1/30s exposure possible, thanks to its relatively large sensor and large aperture - the Z5 photo looks a little artificial, but not offensively so. Meanwhile the iPhone 6s's small sensor struggles to acquire enough light in the 1/20s exposure, so the result is dark and unsatisfying. The Lumia 930 brings up the rear - its 2013 sensor clearly showing its age when combined with mere LED flash.

Lumia 950 camera is going to be a beast!
Epecially with their optics, processing & software and that triple flash!
Shame their app situation sucks otherwise I'd be other there!

Well, I read the Verge review and yes while the camera seems excellent they say that the phone is sluggish which is what I found on the Z5 Compact. That sucks for such an expensive device. I feel that I could get a Z3 or Compact even that performs as well as the Z5 in terms of everything bar the camera. Tough decision. Z5 looks great but I want it to be smooth and its hard to tell if that is hardware or software.

looks like just half ass software atm since even the camera app is a place holder, Nov is when the real camera app release a long with the Z5P. I think they might be just focusing on getting Android M up and running atm.
