It's just Sony that do not try to replicate the iPhone 6. Not that I think the iPhone 6/6s has an ugly design.
"Think different" just doesn't fit Apple anymore.
If the Xperia Z6 is being released this spring, I will not be the last one to update to it.
I have read the Galaxy S6 series is suffering from slowdowns after a couple of months. That is something I haven't experienced with my Xperia Z3 and it's over a year old now.

I don't know why but that bezel less display style doesn't strike me anything special. No phone will be truly bezeless. Well, not anytime soon.
I absolutely love Sony's h.ear head phones and speaker range. Great design, funky colours. Why can't this style be translated to their smartphones?

Phablets increase margins, they don't cost that much more to build but you can charge a lot more for them, why do you think Apple keeps things like OIS and better screen tech in the 6S Plus and not the 6S.
If Sony want to target profit over market share, which they should as the Chinese OEMs will eat up the market share, then Sony MUST have a Phablet line. The Z5 Premium is a great start, but I think they need to add a nice 5.7-6inch top end phablet with that 4K display, 4000mAh battery, and the very best optics, sell it at a price just a tad below the Samsung Note series or between Note and iPhone Plus, and market the hell out of it. Target it at business users, bring back some of the Pseries features e.g. Stylus and software to rival the Note series. There is plenty of room in the phablet market and plenty profits to be made.
They could launch e.g. A Z6 Compact and normal 5.2inch Z6 around MWC and then bring the phablet beasts at IFA, with both a Z6 Premium at 5.5inch 4K display 3600mAh battery and Z6 Ultra with 6inch 4K display, 4000mAh battery and Stylus with note/business software and make a killing in terms of margins during Q4 which includes the festive season.

When the S6 came with the Edge, everyone went for the Edge and according to the current rumors Samsung will have a normal S7 around 5.1 and a Edge at 5.5 so I imagine the Edge will be more expensive. Z5 feels a bit lost because the Z5C has its appeal because its compact and the Z5P because its 4K. I would do a Samsung and have fewer devices so a Z6C, Z6 (which is a premium with maybe a 5.2 4K screen) and the Ultra. Ultra comes at MWC with tablets and the other two around September. The have the one year cycle on the lower ends but stagger them over the year so it seems like they release something in between that has a fresh design like the C5 Ultra and it keeps them in the news. If you think about HTC, you hear nothing from them for ages then the A9 comes. Then a long wait before some M10 news. I hear nothing about HTC these days.

Z compact 4.6 - 4.8
Z 5.0 - 5.2
Z plus / premium 5.5 - 5.7
Z ultra 6.0 - 6.4
and manage to unveiled them around the year not in single event
