I went to a CPW Service Centre yesterday to get my K700i updated to the latest firmware. To which I was told "sorry we haven't got any newer firmware for that phone because it's so new. We only just got the firmware update for the T630!"
So in light of that fact - can someone tell me where my nearest SE service centre is? I live in Leicester, UK.
Hey Man, I live in leicester too and i want to get the SE Firmware on my Orange-branded k700i - which CPW did you visit? the one close to the Clock Tower in the City Centre?
Thanks,
Gavin
Gavin, I visited the one on Welford road, which is a proper service centre. It was a waste of tie really - the burgler alarm had broke and was going off and they were unable to turn it off. I had to conduct a conversation with it going off!
It was hopeless.

"In a not longer time the service will be active again. "
Haha no, should be something like "The service will be active again shortly" or "soon"

do SE seriously employ people who say nowadays the service isn't working due to upgrading the site.
Surely they should have said something like, the site is temporally (sp) unavailable due to an upgrade. They should be talking/typing profesionally, not like a non-educated retard.

Do you know that Sony is a japanese company, and Ericsson swedish?
I would like you to repeat your comment in sweedish and then in japanese.

Will it be possible to update k700 firmware with a usb cable and the DESK SPEAKER STAND (CSS-20) ?
CSS-20 is the same accessory model number as a sync station right?

No, as we have said a few times in this thread, indeed there are pictures from the update service when it was working showing this, it must be a DSS-20 or DSS-25
the CSS-20 is only a hands free speaker

Ya with the CSS-20, you still need a data cable to transfer / sync to the phone. If that was the case, you would also be able to do the firmware update with just a data cable direct to the phone.
At this stage no one knows for sure, but the odds on being able to use it are pretty low, since on the "demo" site DSS-20/25 were listed as requirements.
