6260 and 6630 memory card is hot swappable.
there is a lot of different: PRICE.
btw: 1Gb MsDuopro is NOT out if i'm not mistaken.
i think u would hv a hard time convincing ne1 (other than diehard fans) that there is no difference.

on that one! You can preorder the 1gb, it wont be long until its out. You claimed you cant get more than 128mb, currently theres is a 512mb one available, get your facts right.
You are trying to convince me the nokia mmc is better, when i have plainly stated i think there is no difference aside from the placing of the mmc in the handset...

I've never had a problem in buying a memorystick.
As for 'what if' scenarios the P910 supports memorysticks up to 1GB, as does the soon to be released V800. It would appear that SE are equipping their new range of handsets with 1GB memorystick support, the S700 was rumoured to support 1GB memorysticks, but unfortunately reason SE have decided not to implement that feature.
I recognise that newer Nokia models do have hot swappable memory crads, but the 6600 doesn't, and since you have used this particular model as a comparison for SE smartphones a few time snow, I think it's only fair to point out a flaw in it.

is this good or bad? to nokia it is good/edge because they get more customer to buy. to se it is bad because it is not getting the new sales.
se fans may cry foul over this strategy but i dont think any manufacturer give a d*mn what the competitors/critics say as long as they are selling the phone.
btw: it is not just Nokia is using this. i think samsung is the grand master in this aspect. se is not immune either - T610 to T630 and Z600, K700 and K500, P800->P900->P910.

P900 and S700 can only support up to
128Mb. And S700 is the latest from SE.
Even my "old" 6600 can take 1Gb. So can u see how far behind SE is when they insist on sticking with Sony format.
Also, maybe u let me know how much a 512Mb or 1Gb MsDuoPro cost. I know 512Mb SD and MMC cost about US$50.

As for releasing identical products in slightly different packaging, speaking as a loyal Nokia customer, this is one of the main reasons I went off Nokia.

Nokia tend to do this with four handsets before the actually managed to get new fresh mobile. Lack of technology or not, I would say yes it is. They have to keep up their sale, so instead of pushing the technology further, they prevent because the don't have the "know how" to implement new things to their handsets. Is this because of your lovely series platform or not? Take Nokia 7700 for instance, it had serious problem with its display and that was due to the Symbian OS and that was also the reason why they abolish 7700. Nokia does have 7710 now but we still don't know if this handset is coming out any near soon. Oh BTW Sony Ericsson did not have problem with their touch screen on Symbian OS when they released P800 so I guess it must have been Series platform that caused the big failure of 7700.

Nokia 6600 is only able to take at most 256MB, I didn't manage to put anything bigger than that when I used it. It also has to be Nokia's own MMC or well known brand like Sandisk and even it is Sandisk, you still can't have anything bigger than 256Mb. My Vodafone store expereince.
