This is REALLY annoying me now.

It has stopped working again! I have changed no settings but it just doesnt work. I have activated BT on my phone and then activated the Bluetooth serial
connection which the program advises me is COM3. In Phone monitor properties in control panel all com ports are enabled and within Bluetooth
configuration the Bluetooth Serial Port is pointing to COM3 as well.

I have re-paired my phone and PC and restarted the BT serial port but as soon as I fire up Ericsson Phone Book & text message manager it disconnects. The same happens with christerssons Sendfile program.

Someone please please help me as I am going to go VERY mad soon!!

Thanks

Sounds like a config problem. But just to be sure, is the BT blue light still blinking? Are you using different programs communicating via bluetooth simultaneously? Locking all your bluetooth com ports in mpm will prevent other apps from using it. This post was posted from a T39

@GoWin

MSI dongle is flashing 2 blinks per second and BT light on T68i is blinking. I have no phone apps open and I double click on Serial Port 2 in My Bluetooth places and it goes green and says that it is connected and is using virtual port COM3. I then fire up any phone app (Send File, Ericsson Phone and text manager, Mobile agent) and they cant connect. The serial port connection keeps flashing green on and off but nothing connects.

I have had to uninstall and re-install the software 2 times now and it works for a while and then just stops for no reason. It is soooo frustrating.

Anymore ideas??

@can1
there's the problem. you cant make FMA (mobile agent) work with MPM apps (ie PBTM, sendfile) using the same com port.

define a different com port for the FMA, and MPM respectively. and dont let MPM hoard all the bluetooth com ports (in my case i only let it use 1 bt port, and 1 serial port for my cable.)

you'll notice that if you first ran PBTM, then launching FMA will make PBTM stop working (or vice versa)

@jorns
i think you first have to copy the image from the mca to the phone, then send it from the phone to the PC.

@GOwin

Thanks will try that. How do I specify different port for Christerssons Send file, does that use same connection as PBTM??

Cheers in advance!

@can1
PBTM and sendfile communication to the device is managed by the MPM. Just add a new virtual com port for MPM's use and check to make sure the FMA uses a different port.

Go to My BT Places > Entire BT Neighborhood
Click on your phone
Right click on Serial Port 2 service and select Create shortcut. From here, you just identify a different port to use.

My shortcuts for the two serial ports (called FMA and MPM respectively) uses 4 and 6. Of course you can specify any of the available virtual ports.

In MPM i only let it monitor for com1 (for my data cable) and for com 6. The rest is left open.

@jorns
hmmm, in that case the question is off topic here hehehe no, i am not familiar with it. Try to do a search.

Jorns: I think that it is a general problem. Not many BT adapters come with software which allows the PC to receive files from the Phone...

The adapters all support "File Transfer profile", but that is no good, because the T68 has no file system.
What is needed is Object Push Profile, where we select a file to send on the phone (correct me if I'm mistaken), but most PC software does not support that - hopefully they will update their software soon!

What we use most is simply a serial connection, and then we use non-bluetooth software, which is exactly the same as working over a serial cable. Unfortunately, I don't think any of the software (Ericssons, Christerssons, Floats MA) is able to get pictures from the phone over a serial cable.

I think Float (Mobile Agent) is right now workin to get a true BT method to work, OBEX GET from the PC, but I don't know if he is getting anywhere - There is a thread on MA somewhere here.

I heard that the Anycom SW can do this - but I don't know if Anycom software works with other USB adapters.

There has been several threads on this subject - don't know if anyone solved the problem...

It works fine using IR btw. IR seems to have std. software on the PC for receiving files over the link, using something like Object Push. Of course IR software is much more mature, having been out for years. I expect this would be solved in a few months - Bluetooth is moving really fast at the moment Not much help right now though
